Random Commanders Thoughts

I don't care if we sign him, or not. Or, what he gets paid.
Long as he plays well, and isn't a dick weed/team embarrassment.

Ain't our money.

Ax, the potential behavioral issues are what concerns me the most. If he plays like he did last year, he will find himself probably getting ejected, based on the new rules about personal fouls.

I can confirm that Norman is widely believed to be the best CB in the league.

Can also confirm that the Redskins are the favorites.

It's going to take another team stepping up big to keep Josh Norman from staying in DC. Their offer is very strong.

The Redskins are expected to have a deal done with Josh Norman by tomorrow, according to FOX Sports.

All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman is scheduled to visit with the Washington Redskins on Friday, two days after the Carolina Panthers rescinded the franchise tag on him, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Redskins have a need at cornerback, but would need to free up more cap room to sign Norman. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, they have only $11.4 million available.

Less credible sources. All rumors until a deal is signed, but Schefter is pretty legit.

The contract #'s Josh Norman is expected to get from #Redskins / #49ers (most likely WSH): 5 yr / 15-15.5 mil per. That's what I'm told.

@DmooreNFL

McD--That sounds like a headline number. Not realistic. 5 years, we have an option to drop after 1 or 2 is more likely.

With the Redskins looking at having cap room of about $50M next year, this possible signing by then will look like a huge bargain.

@burgundyburner

If Josh Norman signs with Washington he'll start the season vs Antonio Brown, Dez, then Odell, and maybe Josh Gordon in week four.

Rapoport on NFL television right now.

"Virtually every team that has cap space has weighed in and made an offer for Josh Norman. It comes down to two. It's the Redskins and 49ers."

"Best CB in football could join the Redskins tomorrow."

--Ian Rapoport. Translated from tv.

EDIT : Nevermind, I see you translated from TV, as opposed to an internet tweet.
So, I won't pick on the mistake of calling Norman a QB, after first calling him Gordon.
I was thinking you were copying and pasting tweets from sportswriters.
Or did Ian actually refer to Norman as a QB ?

Fear....99% of what I am reporting are twitter comments, with the @name so you can follow.

That last one is on NFL network. It's not a tweet. It's a tv broadcast you can turn on right now.

Ok I'm following what you're saying now.
Basically, you're so giddy about the signing, that your emotions have overtaken your typing motions, huh

No. I'm sitting in front of the tv, with the gf yelling at me, and three dogs that want to go outside lol.

Everyone can follow the rest on tv/twitter.

I do think it's a great move at $12 million.

Thanks for keeping us updated McD5!

As far as signing a big name free agent: I trust Scot way more than I ever did Snyderatto.

Be interested in seeing the "real" numbers if we pull this off.
