Random Commanders Thoughts

The Panthers wouldnt offer him more than 11 mil a year, and they know him a lot better than we do. Hes not a shut down corner, hes a really good system player. Do we run the same system as the Panthers?

Apparently, he wants Revis type money ($16mill per) and Carolina didn't want the distraction of the negotiations leading up to the draft. Therefore, the Panthers said 'seeyalater'.

Will he be signed for his asking price?

I wouldn't be surprised if Jacksonville or the raiders or San Fran signs him 45 million plus gaurenteed 80 million total

Josh Norman is a loud mouth who is interested in headlines. No thanks!

He is asking for 15-16 million a year
to cut culliver while he is injured would require an injury settlement
a mild to slim chance 4-5 QB are taken in the first round.

Could be be a strong player rated in the 10-15 range that falls to us

Don't we have an "out" with Cully because of his suspension?

Not that I want to see Josh Norman signed here for stupid money... and I do think he's overrated.

Nick

Norman was a flash last year in a really good system. He's 28 or 29 yrs old. Attention whore. No thanks.

Revis got $12M to win in NE.

In the immortal words of Larry Holmes 'Norman isn't worthy of carrying Revis' jock'.

Norman wants $16M a year?

Call the Raiders and Bucs.

we do but you can't release them if they are injured that's where the injury settlement comes in

is that BSPN just using the way we WERE or have they actually found someone who says that we are interested? I find it hard to believe that Scot wants to give up 16 mil for a single player when he is trying to build a team of good dudes and depth at it.

Mike, ESPN does NOT think we are on the short list of teams that are interested. :)

We are are not even mentioned in the article

"Interested" is hard to define. Nearly every team of course would be interested in Josh Norman at the right price. McLovin wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least pick up the phone and make a call.

As far as the player goes, I couldn't care less about claims that he has a big ego. Most of the greats do. Some of our fans said the same thing about D Hall before we signed him. If he can play, that's not even a factor.

He definitely fits our system. There's no question about that.

The thing that would concern me is that he has had only one absolutely incredible year, and it came during his contract season. Kind of like Hatcher.

What he did to the best WRs in the league last year was great.....but he only has 7 career interceptions.

Scot isn't going to pay him $15 million a season on a LT contract.

However, this is what Scot is surely considering right now:

A 2 or 3 year headline contract, where we can get out after one season. $12 million.

Cut Culliver and Roberts right now, and try him out for one year.

If another team is willing to pay more then let him go.

I really hope not. He just doesn't seem to fit the culture Scott is going for.

Brace yourselves......the source is questionable.

The Skins have a very legit offer on the table for free agent CB Josh Norman I'm told. 49ers' interest is very strong as well among others

Ahhh.....39 seconds ago, much better source:

The #49ers and the #Redskins have emerged as the front-runners for the services of free agent CB Josh Norman, source said.
