If it's between us and SF, we win that, most likely. He'd get to stay fairly close to his old stomping grounds where he grew up, and much closer to family.
He may not even need to sell his house.

Among other benefits to that, we play the Panthers this year.
Should be interesting how much money we offer him. And what he settles for.
Snyder, just offer him his personal helicoptor to commute between NC and DC

San Fran has a lot more money, a mess at QB and they need to sell tickets. Chip may panic.

As long as we just stick with a price.....like $12 million, we are good. If he wants more he can walk. And if we get him, oh my Lord.
 
I still have PTSD from the Cerrato years, so I'm hesitant about big free agency acquisitions. That said, I have a lot of trust in our GM. If we get him for a good price...hell yeah, I'll take a shutdown corner!

These are valid....to an extent.

I don't think anyone would call Kerrigan's season elite last year. Elite is Von Miller.

$12 million would be cheap. Remember that we paid Lavar something like $10.5 million and he was far from elite. And he was injured.

Hell, we're paying Garcon $10 million.

Norman is in his prime. He's healthy. And words can't express how impressed I am with Scot for going after him. Very smart move, if the contract isn't crazy.

If it's crazy.....let SF have him.

I think that's how we all feel. It is like PTSD lmao!

Some of us wouldn't even want to go after Von Miller if he got released. He also has a mouth and isn't attending workouts. We have to get over that.

Norman on one side just shutting down ODB, Dez and everyone else would be huge. And Breeland on the other side against lesser receivers.

Dunbar in the slot........and Galette and Kerrigan rushing.

Add some nasty D linemen and maybe a safety? Good luck throwing against that.

That sounds a hell of a lot better than gambling on Culliver and Andre Roberts for the same amount of money.
 
Sounds like he's visiting the 'Skins tomorrow. Does SF run a cover 3 scheme like us?
 
I spent thirty minutes last night looking at his stats from last year.

Before people get too set one way or the other, just look at the article below for two minutes.

One highlight? He lined up against the best of the best, and halfway through the season the longest reception he gave up was 23 yards.

I'm not saying he's perfect.......but is he better than Culliver coming off injury and Andre Roberts?

I think that's an easy yes.

Right now we can't cut culliver or Roberts as they are both injured without giving them money for a medical buyout

People said the exact same thing about signing Desean Mike. That's worked out pretty well. If we can pick up a player of Norman's caliber for anything close to reasonable (based on his market value) - that is a game-changing move. Put him with Breeland, who will be a star some day, and Culliver (who has significant talent once healthy), add a big time safety in the draft and we win the next playoff game because not even Aaron Rodgers will be able to complete passes consistently. And the 'hired gun' thing is a loaded description. All players not acquired in the draft are, by definition, 'hired guns'. Kerrigan wants to win. I'll bet he's begging the team to make this move - it'll only make his job easier. I love Kerrigan, but he's not a dominant player at his position - at least not yet.

We have plenty of time to make room for Cousins new contract should the team decide to do so. If we make this move, I'm guessing this is the last season in B&G for either Desean or Garcon.

Hi Sk. I'm not sure what SF runs. I will look at it tonight though.

I do know that we run exactly what Norman fits. Our philosophy is nearly identical to what NC runs.

So there isn't a question about the fit here. This isn't a square peg, round hole deal. That might be the best point about this entire deal.

System Player? We run that same system!

It really comes down to SF's money, versus Scot's sales pitch.

I trust him. We aren't bringing him in here because Scot is stupid. Scot wants him as long at the price is realistic.

Most likely they want to see what cousins can do this year as it stands right now we will have 50 plus million next offseason maybe as much as 60 some million so signing Norman cousins and reed if he has another good year won't be a problem
 
From what Ive read, Norman apparently wants 14-15 mil per year. Thats a lot. He would make our defense instantly much better though.

But thats a lot.

Bringing in Norman would improve our secondary and give a younger Defensive line time to get better
 
I'd take Norman in an instant, and maybe he'll go for a more friendly contract being he wouldn't be so far from home.... Grew up and played College ball in the Carolina's. Don't know if he has a family of his own, but he wouldn't have to instantly uproot them.

If I were him, I'd sign with us.
