The offseason is continuing to churn along now as teams are fully immersed with retooling their rosters by releasing players, restructuring contracts, offering new deals, placing franchise and transition tags, looking at free agency, and planning for the draft. BBQ takes the latest look at free agency and there are more scenarios to consider.

Chris Long should be making a decision soon.
Perry Riley is now likely to stay as he tends to play very well when lined up next to Will Compton. Could an extension be in the works? Probably not, but it can’t be ruled out.
The front office is willing to wait for Junior Galette. He has very little chance of getting an offer elsewhere (Redskins have first right of refusal) and will likely settle for a two or three year deal with the Redskins. It could be settled soon or take several weeks.
Negotiations with Kirk Cousins are expected to resume in the coming weeks and the Redskins are going to be very proactive. Both sides want a long term deal.
The Redskins are in talks with the agent of Stefen Wisniewski.
We have listed new players in the target list as the first round of signings have taken place. We don’t know who will be a target as this is just a general list for now.
DE/OLB Andre Branch is visiting today.
Kyshoen Jarrett could miss the upcoming season due to the shoulder/arm injury he sustained late in the season.
ILB Terence Garvin of the Steelers visited the Redskins today. He is more of a special teams player.
Vernon Davis is visiting the Redskins today after flying into Dulles last night.
File this under the importance of free agency. Over the last five years, 188 players who went to the pro bowl or were all-pro left for another team in free agency the following season. Only fifteen of these players returned to the pro bowl or became all-pro with their new teams.
The Redskins signed Kendall Reyes this morning. He has good size for a 3-4 DE, but the former second rounder from the class of 2012 rated dead last in Pro Football Focus’ DE ratings. The hope is that Reyes can rekindle the promising first two years he produced. Coach Barry is obviously familiar with him.
Robert Griffin, III will be visiting with the Jets later today.
Also, BBQ wants to remind you that making big splashes on the first day of free agency (or most anytime) is not necessary. The following players tell you why: Jeff George, Adam Archuleta, Bruce Smith, Trung Canidate, Dana Stubblefield, Jeremiah Trotter, Albert Haynesworth.
The Redskins have an interest in FS Reggie Nelson and CB Casey Hayward.
The Redskins were not awarded a compensatory pick in the draft this year.
The Giants signed ex-Redskin Keenan Robinson. The team chose not to re-sign him as the ILB chose to roam the field too much and not stay in position. When Robinson did stay in position as he did one time in the New England game, he had an interception that was nearly returned for a TD.
Logan Paulsen has returned to the Redskins. The team could carry an extra tight end this season in lieu of adding a fullback. It’s a one year deal.
