Apologies, but I wasn't trying to be political, just answering questions to the best of my ability. In hindsight, this is one forum I never should have paid any attention to, let alone posted in.
 
No apologies are necessary brother. We just made a decision a long time ago that politics, religion, and highly controversial topics just created more problems and member anger than they did positives. This is a borderline topic, but we just aren't going back there. As for why you would avoid the forum, I can't imagine why. The 5 O'Clock Club has some awesome conversations going.
 
Nah that's cool, they're not for everyone & I get that. I think growing up with/around them may give some a different viewpoint, it did for me anyways. I'm 90% covered as far as hunting goes & feel very comfortable regarding home protection. The firearms are a last resort in any situation but secondary in my case. If they make it past 260lbs of Saint Bernards I throw the yorkie at them. If that fails then it's go time!

Once I get a good hunting rifle I'll be content (for now) with hunting weapons. Leaning towards 300 or 338 magnum. Mooses & caribou are big
 
I own a lot of firearms, and love to shoot, but these are my favorite. The Sten gun and the suppressed pistol are not mine. My absolute favorite, is the Henry Golden Boy .22 It's the lever-action, with the brass receiver, that's leaning against the picnic table. I've put thousands and thousands of rounds through the Henry, plinking all day. It was dead-on, right out of the box. I have the large-loop lever, which makes it nice to shoot, with gloves on, when it's chilly out. It's a pure joy to shoot. If I could only keep one gun, other than my hunting rifle, it would be the Henry.

I just picked up a Ruger SR22 today for target practice.
 
Chris, I also have the Shield - love it, but for CC man I really love my new Ruger LC9s. The 's' is for slim grips. It's quite a bit smaller than the shield and it's got a lone of the nicest trigger pulls I've found. Highly concealable 9mm even to put in a pocket.

I love those grips.

I have small hands, and short, stubby fingers and there are quite a few pistols that I can't grip comfortably.

I'm in the same boat as well. I don't carry that often, but I like to have one in the car. Just hard to constantly do since I can't drive it to work.

That's 3 of us. I don't actually carry much but I never leave anywhere in my vehicle without it. Mine is a little big but I've gotten used to it. I carry a Glock 17 9mm and occasionally I will keep my S&W .357 long in the case in the back. Basically a nice gun for camping in case a bear walks into camp (happened to me alone in the GW Forest one night), but a cannon to ever try and carry. I love shooting that thing though, it is ridiculously accurate and fun to shoot. A couple of shotguns and rifles round out the mix.
 
It's actually about an ounce lighter than the Shield. Really nice trigger pull, like you mentioned about the lc9s. Must be a trait of the Ruger's.
 
Great pics and collection ya got there Skinsfan1311. Chris that Ruger looks like a blast to shoot.

Think I've settled on my next shotgun purchase. Mossberg 500 for fishing, ain't messin around with no brownies.

Boone- did you ever look at the Ruger LCP?

It's considerable smaller than both the Shield and the LC9s. Wondering if it's too small. Great reviews though.

Really? The LC9 is much smaller than the Shield. I can't imagine going smaller to be honest. I can carry the LC9 in a pocket if I want.
 
I know you have both but the stats look pretty similar between the LC9s and the Shield.

6.0 vs 6.1 length, 4.5 vs 4.6 height, .90 vs .95 width, 3.12 vs 3.1 barrel length, 17.2 vs 18.2 ounces.

LCP is 5.16, 3.6, .82, 2.75, 9.6 ounces.
 
Wow - that's small - is that a 9mm?
