I think a lot of FA's put most of the pressure on themselves, trying to justify the big dollars they got. No way to know if Kirk will. But pressure/criticism increases with the pay scale. Nature of the beast. I think it's less pressure trying to become "the man", than it is to stay "the man". Expectations, and all.

You are also using brady as an example when he had his owner, head coach, and thousands of fans who were defending him every time it was brought up. Its different in DC. The fans are different, the coaches are different, we dont have the same kind of winning that they do up there in recent years.
 
Brady was already established as a perennial top QB too.

Kirk is still at the Scott Mitchell stage.
 
I've only lived in two football towns, but I find the fans to be all the same. Overreacting, over the top. Same with the media. It all flows the same depending on win/loss. My point on Brady stands. Having others defend him doesn't remove the noise and accusations. He's the kind of guy that uses and feeds off it. Takes it as a challenge. Kirk seems to be in the same mold. Whether he'll be successful at it remains to be seen.
 
San Diego sports media compared to DC media is like comparing a kitten to a Tibetan mastiff.
 
I agree...but you said they're all the same and I can tell you that in all of the cities I've lived in that DC has some of the harshest media and critics.

I'm a student of the game, especially the history of the league. I read yesterday an article by Goose Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News about taking quarterbacks in the draft and how they fare in their careers. In the Superbowl era (49 Superbowls), 27 quarterbacks were taken in the first round. Of those, 19 won the Superbowl. 3 second rounders won it. 2 third rounders won it. No 4th rounders.

Gosselin's conclusion was that where a QB is taken is a great indicator of his potential success and the Cowpukes should take one at #4. I'm not buying into that since it is not a cause/effect relationship. Where you are taken has no bearing, its just a coincidental stat as far as I'm concerned. Nevertheless, I'm not liking the history of those stats as it pertains to Kirk. But I luvs me some Kirk Cousins, he is the prototype QB I wanted all along, but did not have a clue as to his focus and study habits. This is great news and should more directly have a bearing on Kirk's potential to win a SB. If he thinks like Brees and throws like Montana, I'm all in.

I hope Dallas takes a QB at #4...there really is no QB in this draft worth a pick that high to begin with.

Kirk is a classic example of hard work, discipline, and drive.
 
Heard Garcon on the radio day talking about how Kirk directs them. Tells them what he expects them to do when they see certain things and where he wants them to be. He's not just the Captain, he's a freaking field general. He's learning the game so well, he'll only get better. We have a real QB, folks. Own it.

Scary to even think 'bout it but it's a knockin' at the door all Kirk has to do is open it...... and kick ass starting with the Pack!
