Morris time. For several reasons.

To me, the entire running game has stunk since the Eagles game. I became frustrated during the Giants game when it seemed like they used the RBs at the wrong time. They had Jones in for short yardage and he tried to cut back instead of just barreling ahead for a yard. Morris can just put his head down and get a yard. Daryl Johnston last week also commented how the running plays are being called for the wrong RB in the game.

But I also think that defenses do not fear the deep passing game, since there is no deep passing game. So they can bring the extra guy into the box. The corners also play tighter making outside runs difficult. If they open up the passing game and get the ball downfield, this will help the running game.

Now, the O-Line has to block and the RB's still have to make the right reads. But I'm not sure if the play calls are helping either.

Take out the first two games of the season:

Morris is 48 carries for 122 yards. 2.54 average
Jones is 38 carries for 98 yards. 2.58 average

Morris ain't the problem.

Hehe, I was gonna take out those games but was about to leave work and didn't have time to look up the numbers.

So wait a minute....everybody bitched and moaned about the Shanahan scheme: Smaller, quicker linemen that could get out in space and zone block.

Alot of those same fans said the remedy was to get bigger and stronger along the Oline and become a Power blocking team.

We're now transitioning to that. We're not there yet but the plan is to become that....and now, that's no damn good?

And Redskins fans say they have patience...............

I think we're all just having a lively debate about the run game and what's not clicking at the moment.

You're absolutely right though in my opinion. We are trying to transition to a new running scheme and we're doing it with 2 players that had are rookies. I do think this line can be great. But I think we need to EXPECT that we'll have growing pains with it this year. The injuries have not helped let this line settle in and gel together at all.
Sometimes we'll look great, sometimes we'll look like a line stacked with rookies. Nature of the game.

My patience stems from being British. LOL We love to queue for things and drink tea. So I'm just waiting the Redskins turn back at the top while having a lovely brew

Not sure if this one has been posted but I'll do it here anyhoo.

Another examination on Alf's troubles (with pictures ), the gist is that for whatever reason he's appears tentative, even to the point of making two hesitant cuts and not trusting his instincts/reads, because of this he's not hitting it hard and taking it to the defenders.
Acknowledges that the line does pork the pooch sometimes but this one points out when the line is doing it's job Alf is still not getting it done.

It's been since the Rams game. Yes, the blocking has been an issue. Yes, he hasn't gotten a ton of carries. And yes, he hasn't been the same guy we've seen for the last three years. I'm hoping to find out it's something curable/fixable, because I love the guy, and I think he could be a benefit to this team going forward.

I think it's a bit of a vicious circle.

While the O-Line is regularly screwing it's assignments, Alfred probably doesn't trust it like he used to, which is making him tentative when picking his spots. If the O-Line can start being consistent and Morris can get more regular carries I'm hoping these things fix themselves.

As much as I appreciate what Morris has done, the man he is, and the respect he's earned...I cannot say I disagree with Casserly. I don't care who is running the ball, I just want the best out there and if that means Alfred drops in the depth chart, I guess that's just the case. We have to get our run game going.

Yeah, use the one that fumbles as your primary with the one who's hurt as your 2. Both rookies and unproven over the vet who's done it for years.

How on earth is it a bullshit proposal to suggest maybe Alfred lose his spot on the depth chart, if he cannot get the job done? There have been many reports and some of the members of this site, who have mentioned noticing that Morris does not have the same vision, nor the step to hit the hole that gives him the best opportunity to gain yardage.

If a player at any position does not perform, it is not a bullshit proposal to bring in another player. That's how it goes in sports. Kinda surprised this would even be argued...it's common sense.

I wasn't being rude, all throughout the sports' world people get benched for not performing. It's kind of a no-brainer.

I don't think it's bullshit as long as people aren't saying its clear cut or any easy call. Then, I think it's more nuanced than that.

And Jones I thought, has been getting more carries than Morris, or at least pretty damned close.
