If I had to guess, he knew something. He's been involved in the league most of his professional life, and you make lots of contacts to gain insight from.

Djax is playing at a pro bowl level, Robert is not. I don't see a double standard at all. Chad Johnson was colorful when he was winning...not so much later on.

some perspective: DJAX rolls off and does a whole reality series. Griffin says "I have to think of myself as the best." and who gets pounded?

we all know the answer to this: it has nothing to do with what we says, when he says it, or to whom he says it. it has everything to do with performance on the field. so sit back...and let it play out its course!

Thinking about it, I'm thinkin that Hall is going to be a liability to the team this season. His play last season wasn't anything to write home to mama about. Now coming off the two surgeries at his age, we better be solid at safety, because he's gonna need a lot of help over the top.

Lets hope Amerson rebounds this season, I have a feeling he's going to be on the field a lot.

With Hall, we know what we're going to get: a guy who will make a few wow plays, offset by as many if not more facepalm plays. Add in the age/injury factor, which at some point--when, not if--will equate to a fall off the table, and it would be a mistake to count on him to be a solid starter for the length of 2015. Comes down to the development of the new guys. We might have next year's and beyond CB's on the roster already ... or we might be shoppin' again next spring.

How quickly people bail on Breeland. I figured by week 6 it's going to be Culliver / Breeland as the top 2 (as long as they're healthy) and was hoping Amerson would be able to step up as a reserve no. 2 and slot guy. The other name I don't see there is Quinton Dunbar, who in a small sample size against weak opposition showed the ability to make plays on the ball. He also moved from WR (a glam position) to DB (only in the spotlight if you get burnt position) showing that he's willing to work hard and do whatever it takes. I wouldn't mind seeing him stack up against better talent either, see what he's got.

Good points, ST. I didn't catch that redskins.com didn't show Dunbar as a CB yet. Pretty positive early returns, but it's unlikely a guy who just started playing on that side of the ball a week ago is going to be ready to be a major contributor for a while. Learning curves and on the job training aren't really best acquired during real games ...

Agree totally on Breeland and Amerson. Breeland has to show that last year wasn't an aberration, but the skills and swagger are definitely there--just a matter of putting and keeping it all together. Amerson? Hard to project what we've got there. We saw the potential his rookie year, but last year the man simply got some mental wires crossed and forgot how to do his job. If better coaching and hopefully some more maturity lead to regained confidence, maybe we'll have something there.

Lotsa if's. But that's the case for most positions on most teams. Remains to be seen if our new GM will be among those who manages to find the right solutions more often than not in the coming years.

I only mentioned Breeland because Om mentioned "might have next year, and beyond's, starting CB on the roster" and as far as I'm concerned we do. Culliver/Breeland

I don't know that he's been that bad though. He absolutely hasn't been great, or even on the northern side of 'good' but he's also been on a very bad defense, with ZERO help behind him. Last season he struggled BIG TIME but his rookie season, if I remember correctly, he showed real signs of some serious talent. I'm not saying I want to take him and put him man to man next week against Calvin Johnson, but I also don't think he's completely void of any type of value.
