Fingers crossed that tomorrow night we finally get to see for ourselves how the man "looks" dropping back, setting up, moving as necessary, and getting the ball out on time. Hopefully to one of our guys.

I heard he went 7 / 7 with a 50+ yard TD to Garcon in 11 on 11 drills, and 5 / 5 in 7 on 7 drills. Now this was done at not quite full speed, and they were in shells, so contact was not a factor, but IF you're gonna hear anything coming out of camp, this is it. I put minimal stock in this, but this is what SHOULD be happening at camp. That being said, the ball still needs to be delivered and he's not missing his targets. I hope this translates, and we don't just see a ton of dump offs tomorrow night. Let him get his feet wet and get the ball down field...

They're still harping this morning on his dad being at practice. Do they really have that little to discuss? Seriously? It's a huge deal because they keep making it a huge deal, then they question Keim on whether RGIII either doesn't realize or care about the optics. His response? The predictable "Well, it's probably a combination of both."

I've listened to very little radio this off season. And, as hard as it is to fathom, I'm even smarter now.
 
I heard Griffin's sound bite when he was asked about it and it went something like (paraphrasing) "I owe my dad a lot, and I want to share my NFL experience with him, He's not going to be in meetings or anything, that's not his place, but if the coaches are cool with it, it's a cool thing to share".... a reporter asked if he got 'permission' from the coaches and he responded that he ran it by them prior to bringing his dad out onto the field at the facility.


This is a meaningless issue in and of itself. I think there is a little bit of a naive attitude because of how much scrutiny his dad brought on him year 1 and 2 though, so with all that crap that went down, having his dad out there on the field does welcome a bit of scrutiny. I think it's been way overblown and I cant wait til tomorrow so the media has game tape to analyze, instead of this kind of stuff.
 
It's fuel for those who want to hate Griffin to use his dad as an excuse on why they can say he sucks.

I can tell you that my dad would be right there with me as well and we would share as much of this as possible together. It would be as cool for me as it would for him.

yup. I heard some of the same stuff driving in to work. some of it is blatantly stupid. example: one reporter stated that probably 50% or more of redskin fans don't like the fact that RGIII's pops is hangin out at practices. How in the world would a reporter have this data? it's simply pure, unadulterated agenda driven BS.

It's Keim pulling stuff out of his ass to get on radio. He hasn't polled anyone. The same time, I find it difficult to believe anyone outside the sports media (who are paid to make a big deal out of it) even care about his father being there, much less are angered by it.

One thing I can say about here and most of the online Skins community is while we may differ in our view on the team and RG3, it is a world apart from what I see on the Washington Post comments. It's like the absolute dregs of fandom are invited there to vituperate endlessly, with nary a concern or a lick of sense. I find most of the comment sections painful to even attempt to read. Before someone says that they feel the same way about political story comment sections, I'll say that it's at least only sometimes.
 
The *average* sports fan is a ****ing idiot brother - it's okay to say it out loud. Don't believe me? Buy some 400 level Redskins tickets and take in all the glory some Sunday. It's pretty scary. I'm not a snob - but a significant number of fans are just reactive, emotionally-underdeveloped miscreants. And they like to comment on online articles :)

To elaborate, the average sports fan tends to be greatly schooled in the arts of Knee Jerk and Hypocrisy. I'm always amazed at some of the things I hear people say, and how quick they will jump back and forth about where their support lies. I hardly EVER talk sports outside of a certain group of folks (this board being on the positive side of that fence) simply because I always find myself coming across some random argument or statement leaving me in absolute awe.

Gotta agree with a lot of it.

In my totally uneducated view, Griff still hangs on to it a tad too long allowing defenders that extra half step to plow into him after a great pass. If he can get it out that half step earlier then the defenders will start getting called for roughing and at least the hits will gain additional yards.
Get it out a full step faster and we've got something.


CLEVELAND -- The play unfolded the way Washington Redskins hoped. They ran a play-action fake, the safety froze and then they adjusted to a slightly unexpected route. Everything was good up until the end, when Pierre Garcon dropped a ball.

That play against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday showed who the Redskins want to be offensively. On the previous play, they ran the ball for 5 yards, setting up a second-and-5. So they sold the run again -- and Garcon conned the safety into thinking he was coming to block him. But then Garcon turned it up field to a spot that wasn't the original plan and quarterback Robert Griffin III fooled the corner into thinking he was throwing underneath. Then came the drop.

However, in the preseason it's about seeing how players handle plays and Griffin did a nice job on this one. It wasn't exactly a highlight of his night, but that wasn't his fault. If the Redskins are going to do much offensively, the run game must set up the pass and on this series it did.

I think Griffin looked good, he delivered good balls, and even on the underthrown ball he got it there. I think he let that drop ruin the rest of the series and he can't do that.
 
“Robert did good in the pocket, he had a nice big scramble on third down and 4 to get a first down for us,” Gruden continued. “Colt [McCoy] had one, Kirk had a scramble and then found a back for a big gain on a long yardage play. So I think they’re all very capable quarterbacks in the NFL, but right now, obviously, Robert’s our guy and we’re happy with his progress.”

that is good to hear from Coach...Cousins did look good but he had that bad rainbow through that Roberts had to go up and get, plus it was against 2s and 3s.
