I find the delay encouraging.

I assume that both the team and the league have already asked him straight up if he did it, and if he had answered yes, I believe he would have already been released.
 
I don't know if it's a good sign or not, but the utter silence is pretty strange.

Yeah, because any of us have any REAL proof it was his fists who did it. I'm sure he autographed it after he was done and signed a form stating "these pictures on my Instagram are done by me"

No, tr1. Easy yourself. Your sarcasm and snide remarks are easy to pick out and I'm not about to play this game with you. She could have as easily hacked his account as he really did it. She could have gotten beat up by someone else and be trying to **** him over as easily as him doing it. McD comparing it to a guy who's car he owned being left at the scene of an accident is not even remotely the same.

Crowder may turn out to be a culprit. I do believe Mike's point is that you are jumping to conclusions based on some assumptions before all the evidence is in.

You're basing this on... what? The Ray Rice thing? If so, I think the league instead will spend a great deal of time and money trying to cover it up. Or is the league now really tough on women-beaters? You actually do make a good point in a meandering way about the league's inconsistency.

I have no faith whatsoever in the NFL to handle any of this even remotely well. They have a vested interest in doing what is best for them financially, and couldn't give two shits about anything else. Make no mistake, if sponsors start complaining, Crowder is cut before you can blink, all the evidence being in or not.

Think we all should hold on standby until something more than speculation arrives.

Receiver Jamison Crowder. Last week, photos were posted on Crowder’s Instagram account with allegations that he had committed physical harm to a former girlfriend. Crowder’s agent denied the allegations and he’s still practicing with the team. I have no idea if Crowder will address the situation; multiple messages with his agent have not been returned. As of late last week, there had been no arrests or charges against Crowder in Loudoun County or Durham, N.C. or by the Duke police.

Why so much drama?

The player continues to practice with the team. Do you believe Scot would allow him to continue to practice if he thought he was guilty?

And the league has no allegiance to a fourth round nobody who hasn't even taken the field yet.

I think Scot has a vested interest in not looking stupid for drafting a women-beating piece of shit. When the news first broke, that was one of the first posts about the situation, people wondering why girlfriend's weren't interviewed for the draft. I don't personally think it's a huge mark against him, but I understand wanting to cover one's ass to a certain degree.

The league won't step in until public outcry reaches a crescendo. Right now it isn't getting a lot of play, probably because there wasn't a video - the video is what made the Rice thing explode.

All I can tell you is that if you're looking to the National Football League and Roger Goodell as being some sort of moral compass, that them allowing him to keep playing must mean he hasn't admitted to doing anything wrong, well... good luck with that.
 
Personally, I'm of the belief that if the league thought he did it, they'd be more likely to use him as a sacrificial lamb to show how they are being proactive, than to cover it up. I have no idea what went on with them, and it sucks that we even have to deal with it. However, we have no idea what those pictures were of. They don't even necessarily have to be of somebody he knows. They could be pictures somebody found of somebody completely unrelated to him, we have no idea.

We'll find out by August, I'm sure. I'm just not ready to lynch a guy just because I have a distaste of accused actions.
 
Thank you, that's my entire point. Plus, to sit there and make up things like "he's probably paying her off" does nothing to help anything and is just gossip.

I'd like to believe your hypothesis is accurate, but I've long since given up trying to divine what the NFL's moves (or lack thereof) mean. They're buffoons.
