Welcome, Henry. Been waitin' for ya.
I don't want to come off like I'm pushing this too much, but I will share that at least for me, the
Intermittent Fasting thing has worked. I was in the same place you are--frustrated. Calorie counting wasn't working, extra cardio, nothing. Figured I'd simply found my new baseline weight, and it was 10-15 lbs higher than I wanted it to be.
There is TON of info out there on the concept, and many different formulas, so if you're inclined to try it you'll want to research it yourself like I did. The regimen I've been on is this ... I have a daily 8-hour window to eat, then I fast for 16 hours. In my case I eat from noon-8pm, then fast until noon the next day. That's it.
I do try to eat healthy during the 8 hours, but I don't starve myself. And when I want a beer or two, or a treat, I have them. When we go out to dinner and/or drinks, I participate. Just within reason. The key has simply been to stick with it. In the 2 months since I started I've dropped 10 of the unwanted pounds, but the best part is, I've ramped up my metabolism to the point where when I do indulge over a few days, a day or two later I'm not stuck with the extra baggage--it steadily melts away again.
Not many things simply
work in life, so when I find something that does I like to share the experience. I know it's not for everyone, but since I've found this lifestyle approach, it's become something I expect will be part of mine for the foreseeable future.
Anyway, like I said ... welcome to the other side.
