I'll still go on record saying Sherman is a system player. Great for that system, but a system player. Funny, when Lynch was in Buffalo, it seemed all he did was run directly at the big pile of bodies.

Exactly! Sherman is great at what he does which is press and disrupt waiting for the pass rush to get home. He didn't cover for crap early this year though when the Seattle pass rush wasn't generating pressure.

The Patriots openly cheated against the rules by stealing signals and taping practices for years before they were outed by Eric Mangini.

Their punishment? $500,000 fine for Bill and the loss of one first round draft choice.

Meanwhile, look at the penalties for Bountygate to the Saints.

Also, look at the penalties imposed on the Redskins for the salary cap flap in 2012.

The cap penalty helped to prevent this team from filling out a 53 man roster with NFL caliber personnel.

And when the Redskins did terminate those contracts, it was LEGAL to do so. It was only made illegal RETROACTIVELY after the CBA was renewed.

Face it, it was a cowardly act by the NFL.

Meanwhile, Robert Kraft steps up to the mike and whines about people casting aspersions on the Patriots over the deflated balls flap.

And Roger soothes him by partying with him the next evening and having pictures taken with him.

If that's not bought and paid for I don't know what is.

I agree with you that the Cap Penalty was BS.

Spygate vs Bountygate? You can't be serious.

One is video taping plays and the other is paying players under the table to intentionally hurt their opponents.

I would hope that the penalty for putting Bounties on players' heads would draw more punishment than a guy holding a camcorder.

Really? See, I find disliking the 'Hawks easier than any other team in sports right now and have felt that way for over 3 years. I would rather Bill and Tom get another ring than Seattle get back to back Championships. It is that insufferable, in your face, arrogance that gets me.

Pete Carroll sold his soul to the devil. What he did at USC is almost exactly what he's done in Seadderall. Shady players with little morality as long as they win. I wonder when the shit hits the fan in Seadderall, will he run to the woods like he did at USC?

Tough crowd. If I had a second favorite team it would be N.E., Have they cheated? I suppose but I honestly believe cheating a bit here and there is more common amongst most teams. Stealing signals? Recording from improper angles? Sure I will concede, Belichick got caught with his hand in the cookie jar that time but still his overall body of work is really special.
I actually like Seattle and know Sherman has a mouth and he's arrogant and overrated but he's really good and I wish we had him on our team. I have no real preference except if Brady and the Pats win...that would put Brady in a good spot record wise.There have been some fond memories watching the special qbs in my lifetime. With a win he's in the discussion as being the best ever QB.
I don't see a blow out. I see a really good game and I have no idea which team will win. I'll go with the Pats by a nose but I think we will see a good game. Brady will challenge the field. Seattle's Defense is solid everywhere...Certainly a top 3 Defense regardless of Stats. Seattle does play better at home than one the run. Yep, Brady and the Pats by 5.

You don't know how many times I've seen that play and felt the same thing.

Darrell Green carrying on like he made some sort of play when the WR dropped the ball before he even got there. Now whether he'd have gotten in the EZ... I don't know. Green didn't save the day or anything, though.

With you 100%, hate them. Despise them. The Patriots? Well they earned everything they got, cheating notwithstanding. Never heard anyone say they only won because of the cheating claims. I don't see anything they ever did that an opponent couldn't plan around and prevent any advantage. So if Seahawks have done nothing to prepare for the disguises provided by formation, then shame on them they deserve to lose. Play action, formation disguise, and a healthy serving of Gronk, should do the hawks in. Seahawks allowed TD's to TE's in top three in the league. That is there Achilles heal.

The media just asked him some questions, which of course is fine, as is him answering them if he so chooses. What isn't fine is openly calling your head coach's actions an 'unfortunate decision'. That's just plain stupid Mike. And if you think the coaches won't see that and file it away, you're wrong. You can't have it both ways. If you want to come out and play hurt because your team needs you and you can help them win - you'd better help them win. If you play like crap (and he mostly did), don't turn around and act like you were a hero coming back too early.

A little late to the party on this article. I'll just say I agree his quote about the 'unfortunate decision' was dumb. I'm sure he meant that it was unfortunate for him and not arguing against Gruden in the media. However, you got to be smarter than that.

On the other note, for those that are on him for coming back not 100%, I would just say there is no evidence he hid anything from the coaches. They probably all knew the situation, but didn't elaborate in the media. Heck, Peyton and Fox did the same thing this year.

Agree. Plus, in real time, do you think Green can tell if the ball was dropped, he knocked it out with a tackle, or it was up in the air and he had to make the play? No, he made the play like he often did. On top of that, it wasn't even his man. His man was Anthony Carter, who was supposed to clear out but didn't. (Greens words from America's Game) That put Green in the spot to make a hit to leave no doubt.

As far as the other comments of him celebrating, what would you do when you just went to your first Super Bowl? Raising your hand running off the field is an expected reaction.

Just trying to think(but nothing happens)... when was the last time a QB called his own plays?

I assume there was always discussion on the sidelines with coaches but there was actually a time that every play was not signaled in from the sidelines.... right?

Correct. Furthermore, the NFL teams have a long history of signing players from their rivals to steal everything they know about them. This is just gamesmanship, not to be confused with cheating. Reading lips is gamesmanship, and this type of behavior comes with the game and territory.

The NFL told teams to stop taping opponents and the Patriots continued to do so. The penalty was relatively light.

The NFL told teams not to offer bounties or run bounty programs and the Saints continued to do so. The penalty basically broke the team up.

It isn't that the Patriots would not have been a contending team without their violations, it's that when New England does get caught doing something the NFL tends go soft on them.

Kraft has become the 800 pound gorilla in the room and it's not healthy for the league.

Which is why I think there's a good chance Goodell swings for the fences with this. I have a feeling getting hammered over Ray Rice and everything else has put him on edge.

Of course, if he were really not a pussy, he'd have already laid down the law with suspensions regardless of the Super Bowl. But instead, he'll puss out and do it Monday.
