i seen that on a website but I believe it is pure speculation Snyder is not running the show and that is not a Bruce Allen or Scott M move
Cutler Salary is around 20 million a year and that is about how much cap space we have available I don't see it happening unless the bears trade us Cutler and 2 first for Griffen

There are about ten things I like about him. Here are a few:

1. He currently has a 3.75 GPA. His major is engineering. Not college athlete 101. He's incredibly book and classroom smart. He is a fast learner. He picks up new plays quickly.
2. He runs a true pro offense. Pro sets. Knows how to read defenses.
3. He has dealt with amazing adversity; the kid doesn't crack.
4. His physical size. At 6'4, 230 pounds, you aren't going to tackle him with just your arms. He's like Big Ben in that regard. He's great at extending plays because people bounce off him.
5. Probably his best trait, Kiper, McShay and others agree that he possesses the best anticipation of any QB coming out in the last ten years--yes, even better than Luck when he came out. He throws the ball before the receiver breaks. You don't see that often in college.

True, fansince, that might be an interesting angle to pursue. I was using as a starting point my estimate of the likelihood of our roster being in much worse shape-across the board-than most teams

Even if there weren't concerns about his judgement, and even if he was every bit as good as your glowing reviews, he's not going to fall to us and we cannot afford to move up to get him. It's also totally contrary to every other draft move McLovin has made previously to do that kind of a deal.

I have wondered a couple times over the past 2 years if things with Griffin haven't worked out exactly as we should have known they would. We wanted a franchise QB so badly, we were willing to do anything to get him. And we did. But what we should have known, setting aside everything else about Griffin, was that giving all that up for him would cripple our ability to build what was needed around him. Had we not gotten beyond lucky snatching up Alfred Morris in a late round, it would have been even worse. I'm not saying that now that we have no cap penalty and have finally got a full slate of draft picks that once we do provide the support around him that we'll see Griffin blossom. I still think it's possible, but he may be too damaged from the past 2 seasons to ever be a great QB. But I do think it's worth waiting until we have some real support for him on offense before we bail on him. But what we can never do again is throw crucial picks in handfuls to move up a couple of spots to grab 'the next big thing' at QB.
 
I thought you didn't want him, McD? Why are you campaigning so hard for a guy you have said you want us to skip even if he's there?
 
Think about this.... Morris goes to the Giants as DC, and they suck for years to come...
 
No way they hire him. He's thoroughly unimpressive.
 
Anyone remember Lawrence Phillips? Great back, had 4.3 speed in college. Averaged 7 yards a carry.

But he also had a bad habit of dragging girlfriends down the stairs by their hair and threatening to 'go after' people that he didn't like.

The Rams drafted him #6 overall based on his talent, but in the end his demons rose up and caused him to be short-timer there and in Miami before being out of the league.

If it was just the crab legs incident I would have laughed it off as a youthful indiscretion.

But Winston was accused of sexual assault by a victim whose story seemed plausible. Winston later admitted that the two did in fact have sex but it was consensual.

THAT is the kind of behavior you recoil from. Any incident like that in the NFL and you are going to regret making the pick.

You don't get ahead often making these kinds of gambles. Instead of gambling on an over the hill McNabb or a spread qb option like RG3, I think the Redskins need to introduce some sanity into the mix and go find a player that like Flacco or Wilson that can come in and help a team win without all the baggage and development issues.
 
Speaking of gambling....true or not he's had that accusation as well.

The Giants and Raheem Morris? They are welcome to him.

If Phillips is named the DC Morris will be sent packing. He certainly hasn't done much with David Amerson. The kid looked worse out there in Game 16 of 2015 than he did in his first start in 2014.

Breeland was a fortunate pick for the Redskins, I hope he gets a chance to work with someone else as position coach to develop him for the future.
 
Winston may not be anywhere near as bad a kid as the media has painted him to be - but it doesn't matter. Drama and rumor follow him around like a golden retriever. The last thing this team needs is any player who's off the field life creates more drama than his on the field play does.

looked it up. in fact..at SF...McG did not go scorched Earth. he built slowly through the draft over 5 years.

Well, I did some digging myself anyway-including what he did with Seattle during his most recent involvement there.

I looked at the roster of the 2011 49ers team to get some idea of what he actually did while there from 2005-2010 as far as roster turnover and did the same using the 2014 Seahawks roster the same way.


29 members of the 49ers 2011 roster had been drafted during Scott's tenure-over half the roster.

This included 7 defensive starters and 8 offensive starters on that 2011 team.

Notables included Alex Smith, RB Frank Gore, TE Vernon Davis, LT Joe Staley, LG Mike Iupati, DT Ray McDonald, LB Patrick Willis, S Dashon Goldson, CB Terrel Brown

I did the same thing with the 2014 Seahawks.

In his second term at Seattle 2011-2014 27 players on the 2014 Seattle roster were drafted during Scot's involvement-about half the roster.

Considering he was scouting for just four drafts that seem like a pretty notable replacement level to me.

This includes 5 offensive starters and 5 defensive starters.

Notables include Russel Wilson, TE Luke Wilson, LG James Carpenter, RG J.R Sweeney, RT Justin Britt. CB Richard Sherman, CB Byron Maxwell, OLB K.J. Wright, OLB Bruce Irvin, MLB Bobby Wagner,

Note, 3 starting offensive linemen drafted between 2011 and 2014 while with the Seahawks, and 4 starting offensive linemen were drafted while Scott was at San Fransisco.

Just to cheer up Redskins fans. :beam:

Did the ****ing Redskins just hire a GD GM without having a ****ing press conference ??? Or am I too hopefully too soon? If so 2nd best change to the organization. Next you can fire Tony Wyley and go into media lock down until these "sources" are found.
