I hope Gruden succeeds here.

I hope we end up 8-8 next year, and make the playoffs in 2016.

I hope we start sending some players to the pro-bowl.

I hope we begin to win regularly in the division.

I hope the games after Thanksgiving become meaningful again.

I hope Gruden becomes a HOF coach from Washington.

I didn't realize how emotionally tied I was to RG3, but it's becoming clear that I thought he was our hope for the next 10 years. But, Gruden is a guy with a plan, and RG3's strengths don't meld with that plan.

I'll mourn the day RG3 leaves the team, but I will understand.

i hope we draft a vet QB free agent (not washed up-mcnabb-ish vet) in the off season then let all three of them fight it out in camp and pre-season next year. Make them earn it

Just a thought but what if the Bruce stays on as president and handles all the contracts n stuff. We bring Chucky in as player acquirer....boom goes the dynamite!!!

Oh and fire the hazmat team (Haz/Raheem), promote Kirk Olivadotti to DC.

Looks like Gruden doesn't mind pointing at himself for failing too. I hate that they use the "Gruden say's hes 'done'" nonsense from the Reid article but they also reference that it was the paper that doesn't deserve the pub that said it.... this part here is what stands out to me. Gruden has caught a lot of flack about pointing fingers, but these are actual quotes from him.

"It's a miserable position to be in," Gruden told reporters this week. He said that he needs to call better plays, but added that the players need to execute the plays that are called.
"They've got to go out and make some plays. We need leaders to stand up," he said.
When mistakes become so widespread, the coaching staff usually gets the blame. Many observers think Gruden, who took over a 3-13 team and faced a stiff learning curve in his first season as an NFL head coach, probably gets a mulligan.
But for his part, Gruden told the Washington Times: "I feel like I’ve failed, in a lot of different ways."
“When you have a lot of penalties, when you have a lot of turnovers, a lack of production in key situations — I think that’s a reflection of coaching, and I’m miserable in that regard," he said in the Times interview published Thursday.

I don't know about all that, but I do have ideas as to improve the front office and create more of a "system" of player acquisition and roadtrack to building a solid team while creating a method of roster movement to insure getter results.

First, Allen is good for the organization imho, as an administrator. Keep him as president but remove any personnel matters from him, let him run the team, or oversee the team's operations per se.

Bring in a guy like Bill Polian as GM to acquire and build the roster with the idea of staggering contracts so that we can continually afford good talent that won't bust our cap and force good vets out. I like how N.E. sends the old vets packing a year early so that the roster can be rebuilt with young talent but not hurting the team performance (I know I know, must have a franchise Qb for this to all work out.)

Demand more accountability from Gruden for his staff. Let him bring in a new defensive staff and then be more hands on involved with that side of the ball. But take away from Gruden any and all administrative stuff and put it in allen's lap. Gruden can't handle the big coaching matters while trying to schedule out practices etc.

Definitely need a strong GM and re-organize the operations structure and Gruden's time demands.

Question 1: yes tho Smoot as a coach would be as useful as tits on a nun
Question 2: yes, waiting on legislation to pass officially. Not that I would partake even if so

If there's one area that's had coaching continuity over the past 5 years it's the DC. That's the one area that should be practically beasting IMHO, especially with assignment placement/coverage.

At this point our veteran DC seems over his head and I would welcome something new, yet familiar to the organization and it's players.

On another note, I have a question for the local fans in the DC area. What's the general consensus on Bryan McFadden as a reporter? Is he a Lavar-type ratings whore? Is his opinion respected?

I don't know and don't care if that crap is true, or if true, if it's coming from Garcon. But I've been saying for a while I think he's a bad guy, a divisive guy, and that I think a LOT of the 'rumors' we've heard the past two years are coming from him. He needs to worry about his own sub-par play if you ask me.

The Redskins of the last 20 yrs always has line issues and they are always in flux.

It couldn't be our lack of draft focus in this area,could it? Nawwwwww....

Jansen,Samuels and Williams: the last high picks ( rounds 1&2 ) spent on the Oline.

Lang and Jenkins- Dline. I'm not counting Orakpo,Kerrigan or Murphy here because they were specifically drafted to be linebackers.
We've been a 3-4 D since 2010 and in that time, not one effort has been made to draft or acquire a true NT , which IMO, is a foundation requirement to run this type of D.
Same goes for the RT position. Let's get a LT ( a must have piece ) and let's not worry about RT. We can get a guy off the street to man that.

This organization has shown repeatedly that either:

A: they do not value play at the point of attack
B: they are incapable of evaluating linemen
C: Both

I don't understand what the basis for that conclusion is McD5. Snyder and Allen haven't said a word about what the 'plan' might be. I'm not sure they're capable of figuring out a cohesive, effective plan if you held a gun to their heads.

I am not impressed with Gruden - but what would happen in a functional, non-dysfunctional organization would be:

1) Identify which players lack the talent to contribute (there are a number of them in B&G) and need to be released as soon as the season's over.
2) Identify which players have some value (Griffin) but who don't fit into long-term plans or the schemes that need to be run. Immediately explore trade options for those guys.
3) Fire your DC after the final game and go out and find a young, hungry one. I might look at the college ranks as no established pro DC would want to come here, and although it's tempting to make a run at a Rex Ryan, that's probably a stop gap solution.
4) Gruden needs to provide a detailed prioritized list of the player types he needs to run his scheme and the scouting department needs to get frigging busy identifying them.

I would love to believe that we're finally going to focus on the big bodies on both offense and defense and commit significant resources to rebuilding both the O and D lines. But I will believe it when I see it.

Wish I shared that confidence.

Come April, if we draft anything other than OL/DL in the first two rounds, we'll know if it's business as usual or if a change in direction has truly been made.

I'm hoping after the last game we hear the franchise is not renewing Haslett's contract.

That would start to give me confidence...but, I'm not holding my breath.

That goes without saying.

Obviously, that has to be the first step.

Would not mind if they give Lou Spanos a shot or Kirk Olivadotti.
