If running backs are so easy to replace why didn't Helu maintain the starting role or get it back from morris? Why isn't redd able to beat out morris?

There's a castoff RB named Jonas Gray who has rushed for four TDs tonight in the NE game.

I've never been flavor of the week. It's very simple:

1. Pay the option for a single year for $18-$19 million and hope things improve. People went crazy rolling the dice on Orakpo. Draft linemen.

2. Cut ties if we don't believe he's the answer. Spend $18 million on additional players, and draft linemen.

3. Cut ties and draft a QB. Use the savings on additional players and draft linemen.

Moot point? The decision has to be made prior to the beginning of next year. We have six real games left and the offseason to evaluate him.

I don't see anyone on this site panicking. Except maybe your post.

Things changed with the new CBA. We have to decide before next season begins.

Stop..for the love of everything just slow down with always trying to find the next big thing. Morris is a stud and a great back who isn't even thru his first contract. That shiny new toy you're always bringing to class isn't as impressive as the old reliable rubber ball we know is fun and works just fine.

So, let me get this straight. You would be willing to waste 3 #1 Draft picks & a #2 for a "Rookie of the Year" that doesn't work out for us in his 3rd year because you don't have the patience to allow him to develop into the QB we all want him to be? You would rather trade him away & watch him be successful somewhere else while we draft yet another QB that will more than likely turn out to be as much a learning process as RG3 has been (if not moreso) because Lord knows, when that QB, whoever he may be (I know in your heart of hearts, you hope for Winston), comes here, he'll have the same issues that Robert currently has. Why gamble on a QB we don't know when we could spend the time & effort to mold the one we have?

I agree with the "draft linemen" sentiment. We need to draft linemen, pick up linemen in FA, find big fast guys on the street that can block on offense & rush the QB on defense. That needs to be the main focus of personnel for the next season & beyond.

But dumping Robert? That just doesn't compute with a team that's trying to smarten up & do things right. Look at the successful teams in the League. Do they trade away their highest commodity when they face a rough season? No. Only the bad teams do that. It's a big part of why they...we....remain bad teams. We don't have the patience to allow our players & coaches develop.

Time to stop the revolving door. I wanna see what we can do here when we actually develop & mold the talent that we spent so much getting. Especially when that talent has proven that he was worth it in his rookie season. HTTR HTRG3

I completely agree. One of the reasons the Redskins keep sucking is because there is no patience from anyone. This starts at the top with the owner who is too much of a fan himself. Good football teams give players time to develop, but not with the Redskins. Everyone expects you to be a polished superstar the moment you arrive. If you are not, get them out and bring in the next guy.

At some point, this organization is going to have to put together a plan and stick with it. That will mean having a few lean years to get their. But if you build it right, it will pay off.

We're plenty patient with players, sometimes too patient. It's starting over every 3-4 years with a new coaching staff that is killing us, the only position I feel we are somewhat impatient with is QB. The Head Coach/Coordinator carousel needs to end if we're going to have any chance of building any sustained success. The problem is, most coaches are tired of all the drama after a year or two. They are looking for a reason to get out. And I'm already seeing it on Gruden's face.

I had a 4 hr drive this am which I kept myself awake by listening to DC area sports talk. One thing kept ringing in my ear... Do we score more than 7 points with Colt McCoy? Do we score more than 7 points with Kurt Cousins? My answer is the same as the radio mediots. Yes. Either of them keeps the game competitive against one of the 5 worst teams in the league. We got blown out.

Tired of the apologists. He stinks but hey thanks for 2012...really.

RG3 may be a good person, but he isn't a NFL QB. He was special before defenses and injuries caught up with him.

We have been bad for past 20 years. There was a couple good seasons to keep us coming back. I would think law of averages would allow us to find right combination of FO, coaches, and players to be respectable at least once.

Honestly I think our best chance may have been if we kept Marty Schottenheimer.

Granted I did not see the game, but it was one game. I'm having a hard time imagining that the OLine suddenly acquired the ability to block consistently and excellently and Robert just decided to sit there with his thumb up his ass all game. We invested a lot in this kid, everyone has a bad game. EVERYONE. Shit, this week was brutal for everyone. Philly got crushed. The GMen were embarrassed, and Denver lost to the freaking Rams. Every once in a while, the NFL God's decide to take a dump on gamblers, and things like this last weekend happen. If I were Pittsburgh tonight, I would take the Titans VERY seriously.

Robert looked remarkably solid against the Vikes coming back from injury. Let's not bury the guy yet. Stay the course, keep the evaluation going through the year so we can make an intelligent decision by May.

And for the love of all that's holy, stop with the Colt McCoy BS. Just. Stop. He's not good. Of who we have on the roster right now, Griffin's skillset gives us the best chance to win, and it isn't close. NOT CLOSE. If you want to argue at the end of the year that Griff shouldn't be here long term, we can have that discussion. But please stop the Colt nonsense (pretty sure I've already deja'd this vu).

It was pretty bad to see a wide open Jackson get over thrown twice, one in the endzone. Both could have been TD's...Jackson was waving his arm wide open on a few and Griffin never even saw him...I thought this game should have been his sink or swim game. Because it's not getting in easier the next two games. I'm going to trust Gruden on this one...But if I had a say in the matter...I would acknowledge we are in a rebuild year and it's open audition for everyone's spot. Including QB...

It's not just one game though. If you really think the Vikings game was a remarkably solid performance, I have to question if you watched that game either.

He had some solid play in that game, but it was strife with missed opportunities and poor decisions. Remarkable it was not...solid in some areas...poor in others was more like it.

He made some good decisions yesterday, some very bad ones...again.

Everyone is looking for a scape goat and are quick to jump on him. We sucked in almost every facet of the game yesterday, all except Alfred Morris. Robert gets no pass, but I will not make him the scape goat either.

However, you have to question the team's lack of motivation with him on the field and wonder why Colt was able to push this poorly talented team against the Turds.

I am not saying Colt should start...he shouldn't. As long as Robert is healthy, he should be behind center. Some people simply need to start seeing what more and more people do...Robert won with a scheme to fit his ability. And that is coming from former players/pundits/coaches...not just certain fans who thought this was his destiny in the NFL.

Sorry Brian, I should have said I thought it was remarkably solid given he was coming off an injury. To me, his first game back was solid.

As for the rest of your post, you may be right. I hope you're wrong, and I still believe you're wrong, respectfully. I think Miles nailed it earlier when he said we need to get back to what made Robert successful in the first place and encourage him to run a bit more. I think that opens up a lot, while still limiting him more than 2012.
