Or severely flawed character. I can't stand Jameis Winston & can't believe anyone who roots for the Redskins would actually want him here. That's insane to me. That's like having a woman in your life that you know for a fact is a cheating whore, but you ask her to marry you anyway in the hopes that marrying her will change her cheating ways. Like I said, NO WAY should Jameis Winston EVER put on a Redskins uniform.

Yeah, this bugs me a lot. If you want to talk, back it up on the field. That pass was dropped right in the bread basket for Pierre. Catch that and the Redskins win.
 
Hearing rumblings about Chase Dixon being signed to replace Logan Paulsen.
 
I understand Paulson will be out for awhile with Plantar fasciitious (sp?)...so they need to find a replacement.
 
Football players want to win. McCoy had lead the team to two wins in succession and usually in that situation you ride the hot hand unless you have an Aaron Rodgers or Brady coming back from injury.

Right now I think it's a toss up between RG3 and McCoy in 2014.

RG3 has a better arm and threw long passes to Jackson that Colt would not have been able to complete.

But McCoy is more accurate and may have had better results in that throw at the end of the first half and the fourth down play to Garçon at the end.

McCoy also would have taken fewer sacks and felt the rush better.

That said we still need a new DC and four or five players to upgrade this unit.
 
I don't think McCoy is more accurate. He's more disciplined and plays within the confines of what Gruden wants him to do. Griffin takes more risks which can be both a plus and a liability.
 
Ummm... yeah. What Boone said. Nothing I saw with McCoy made me think our QB situation is in flux at all, barring Robert's injury recovery. If Robert proves he can't make it happen this year and we feel like he is not the long term answer, then we're back to square one. If we jettison Robert and stick with Colt without addressing that position in the off season... yikes.
 
I am not saying we should have stayed with Colt, but I think taking a winning player off the field has helped to divide the locker room.

The organization needs to think long-term, but the players that are here want to win more games this season.

If Griffin was less visibly seen as Snyder's boy and simply a decision by Gruden for the future the decision would have gone down easier.
 
The offense under Bob lost 26-29. The last time a Colt McCoy-led offense scored 26 or more points was 13 starts ago. He's done it three times in his entire career. Colt has never scored more than 2 TDs (running, passing or any combination of the two) in a game ... ever. He's a career backup, and if we start him it's because we've decided to scrap the season and completely and utterly start over at the QB position next year.

Who gives a crap what the locker room wants? This team is 3-6 and the defense sucks. If they want to win they need to play better and not worry about how not-crappy the third string QB played for five quarters.
 
I'm just so curious how people so easily forget that Colt is not the same Colt from Texas.
 
Colt is a game manager. He doesn't have superior skills. He likely will be in the NFL for 10-12 years as the consummate backup that can come in and not lose a game for you.

I think what was appreciated the two weeks he played is that he didn't make the killer mistakes that an average team like this can't overcome.

The other thing he brings is pocket awareness. He knows when to throw the ball away or to slide and avoid rushers.

Griffin has never showed us this. And while some of it is learned you look at Aaon Rodgers or Tom Brady and you have to think some of it is instinct and a natural feel for the position.

I am concerned THAT is what Griffin lacks and not even Norv a Turner or another qb guru can teach him that.
 
Well, I think that is part of the argument here. Are we starting Griffin to beat TB or to develop him for the future?

It's just as likely that Griffin could make two or three plays with his arm but still throw the killer pick or not feel the rush and give up a sack/fumble that decides the outcome.
 
This morning suddenly has a feel like we just lost a game instead of coming off a bye week.

but he did! he threw a pick after a tyrurn-over and a chance to bust the game wide open in dallas. that game was won...choke...choke....by the defense. specifically two guys in the secondary.
 
If nothing else, we need to evaluate Griffin for the long term plan. I'm a Griffin supporter and I want to see him as our QB but this is year 3. It's time to put up or shut up. In addition to that, sitting Griffin not only eliminates the evaluation process but it also eliminates live fire snaps in this offense. His development and evaluation are top priority...

I was in favor of holding him out until this upcoming game but Gruden wanted him to play against Minn and I'll trust that decision. Griffin is healthy, why are we even having a conversation about benching him for McCoy without it including Griffin getting released or traded... because you don't bench Griffin unless you've made the decision that he's not in the future plans of this team.
 
Griffin HAS to play. He is the #1 QB and he is the guy for the rest of the year. We shouldn't be measuring him against our other QB's. We need to know if he is frachise QB material, clutch when it counts.

I don't know why he was benched last year. But the only way he gets kept out this year is if Cousins would have lit it up. Instead, we learn Cousins isn't any answer, and we've lost any trade value in him. Colt is a backup only.

Griffin is not going to pull any rabbits out of the hat. This year is for Gruden to find his team and what they can do.

Simply put, if the defense plays the Vikings game the way they played the Cowboys game, the Vikings game is a laugher for the Redskins. Of course, the reverse is true for the offense. One of the more frustrating parts of being a not so good team.
