As the after glow from the Monday Night Ambush begins to fade a little, just one last tidbit of news... our guy wins the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week.

Colt McCoy’s return to Texas was a success.

Not only did he complete 25-of-30 passes for nearly 300 passing yards, rush for a touchdown and help the Washington Redskins score a victory over the Dallas Cowboys, but his overtime drive was voted Week 8 Never Say Never Moment of the Week.

During that drive, McCoy connected with tight end Jordan Reed on the sideline for a beautiful 16-yard gain that helped the Redskins get to within field goal range.

Three plays later, kicker Kai Forbath booted what became the game-winning field goal

hmmm....snyder. I kinda fall in the middle. there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the team was run, despite PR to the contrary, as a money-making adventure first...and football enterprise second.

where is it now? hard to tell. we don't know the inner workings. but let's assume Snyder isn't an idiot. The Skins are one asset in his portfolio. depending on where the portfolio is headed....his actions with the Skins are gonna be more/less driven by business exigencies.

from a pure football management perspective....it looks like he is leaving the more granular decisions to the football professionals. we all know that's a good thing. I find speculation in the press about issues like pressure from Snyder to play RGIII against the Vikes as stupid stuff the media drums up to create drama for the daily talk shows and press articles.

all that said: Snyder is accountable for every GM he has hired, every coach dual hatted, etc. Where does Bruce Allen fit in?

Would Griffin make the top 10 QB's drafted in the last 4 seasons? (The one before we drafted Griffin) I would put Luck ahead. Russell, Dalton, Kapernick,Foles...not Bradford, Not Manziel,or the Jets Qb his name escapes me?
Is there any young Qb coming into the draft that you would rather have? I would go so far as to say McCoy makes the top 10 as well. Using the benefit of hindsight. I think it we might have 2 of the top 10 qbs. drafted in the last 3 and half seasons on our roster. We were in this spot last season but Cousins dropped his value.

You're one of my favorite posters, Ax. You say what you feel and stand by your convictions. I appreciate that. And yeah, I can belabor things at times...stubborn ass is more like it.

The draft we took Robert there were several OL that are top performers for their perspective teams now. And I would have taken another one with one of the other 1st round or that 2nd round pick. San Fran has 3 first round picks on thier OL and it has been one of the best in the league for about 5 years now. Plug in Krappernick and there are perennial contenders...he's barely a top 10 QB in this league, if that.

Yes, franchise QB is important, but as we've seen...we did it backwards and now our QB has seen 2 pretty significant injuries in his first 3 seasons because we did not solidify our OL first.

Griff is just as, if not more, talented than either, his problem is availability and the cause and effect thereof, a big deal in hindsight.

That part right there. That part would be my point. Their take is biased as hell. Isn't a vast conspiracy. Just one publication I have issues with.

While I agree, what Robert was doing here has helped both of those teams develop those young QB's...but San Fran was starting to win with Alex Smith because they finally had a line in place.

Alex was also a top pick and struggled mightily until the line was developed.

No one here disagrees with the front lines paradigm, it's more a discussion of the chicken or egg scenario.
I've witnessed a decent O line with mediocre QB play lose just as often with this team.

Considering our stable of QBs when Griff was available, it's hard to totally condemn the move. Don't think the Hogs in their prime would have done much to help that pre Griff group.

Unlike Alex, the lack of a dominant O line in '12 was offset some by the skills of Griff.

It's not beyond reason to expect that Oline improvement was on the agenda the following years after the QB solution was in place. The plan, as we all know, was displaced a bit with injuries, cap crap, no first round picks, needs on defense and outside/inside influences on the direction of the offense.

Pending Griff's survival, we should be pretty much back on schedule for team building with a new coach and franchise QB leading the way. We might actually might be witnessing some of that already.

The fact is, Dan Snyder is the face of the Redskins. His actions, either by him or his minions, reflects on the team. He has a history of PR mistakes as long as the Bay Bridge.

And, he's just handed more ammunition to a group that will get headlines just as the issue was dying down.

I do indeed have the option of ignoring you. But I'm soft hearted. The pity I feel occasionally makes me want to try and help. You are, after all, a Redskin fan. Even if that's your only redeeming quality, it would be enough to garner hope that you might be cured. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

The fact is, the manner at which you constantly berate Snyder, based on your own personal hatred of the guy, more often than not, has you coming across as every kind of asshole/turd/lowlife you claim him to be. You obviously don't see it. But there it is. It's childish and unflattering. But, that's your right. Or, judging by the history of it, your obsession. Maybe you should start your own site.
