Random Commanders Thoughts

Yeah, I'm not sure how you can call the ankle anything but a fluke. Every QB I've ever seen (including immobile Peyton, Brady, Brees, etc) have all rushed a few times outside the pocket while still trying to make a play downfield. As others have said, Griff in 2012 would take off running without trying to make a play downfield; once he ran, he was running in other words, not looking to pass. This time he was doing what we have wanted him to do, extend the play looking to throw downfield, which he still accomplished by the way, and he got injured stepping wrong.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was a fluke. :)

I dunno about the rest but yea I'm going to go ahead and call an ankle dislocation on a pretty simple foot plant a fluke.

Whatever you want to call it...it's another injury! Another injury! I know...you've had the same knee injury as RG3...you know all about the rehab. Yup, I get that.

However, you can define just about every single injury fluke!

Bouncing on a trampoline as a boy, I flipped too far and put a spring through my lip...fluke!
Running out of the pocket to pick up an extra few yards, he dives forward into defenders and has his knee bend backwards...fluke!
Defender gets knocked into Tom Brady's knee...fluke!
Joe Theismann gets sacked and the tip of his fibula ends up with dirt on it...fluke!

Who cares if it is fluke or not?

Fact remains...it's "another" injury!

He plays with recklessness. He was running near full speed and tried to cut to make a 12 yard pass as he was avoiding the rush after the play broke down. He does not understand that by simply throwing the ball away, he has another chance at it. Yet, he dislocates his ankle, trying to do it all. He does not understand the meaning of sacrificing a battle to win the war. He wants to win every battle. And that is what will continue to keep him on the side line with injury after injury as has been proven by his track record. He cannot be superman!

There is a pattern here guys...it is plain as day!

Griffin has the option and we can franchise him at a high tender the year after before committing to a long-term contract.

We have time but Griffin needs to stay healthy. We can't wait 10 years to get stable production at qb.

Yeah, but just think how much fun you'll have saying "I told you so" for the next 479 years.

Have you already written the initial, "Ha!!! See there?". Or are you putting the final touches on your RGIII voodoo doll for Sunday?

Nah...already wrote the I told you so thread. My assertions have come to fruition.

But Pete, how is he showing he is protecting himself better? He just spent the last 5 and a half games on the sidelines. He has had 3 serious injuries in the last 5 years...are they all flukes?

Can't speak for the first knee injury, but the second was a fluke with the contact to his knee. Could have happened to anybody. He should have been sat at that point, but played and trashed it, so that's a fluke compounded by the fact he was allowed to play. The ankle was a pure fluke. Prior to the ankle, he was sliding, and going for the sidelines instead of trying for the extra yardage. That shows me he's learning in my book.

How cute is that?

You have a 1 run lead in the top of the 3rd, and now you don't wanna play no more.

Not going anywhere. I have said from before we drafted him, I do not think it is a wise move. I have stood by that ever since. I have repeatedly said, I hope I am wrong. I am not rooting against him, I just have no reason to think he will stay healthy given the last 5 years of his career.

You posted a link to a site slanted against the Skins and are now using it to further your own agenda of bashing Snyder.

We get it.

Hooray, you got another cheap shot in!!

I know Tr1 hates Snyder (I'm surprised we all don't sometimes), but I think he's right on this one. This just seems like a stupid thing to do PR-wise. What is he hoping to gain here?

It's kind of like when he sued the old lady with the season tickets; yeah, it was perfectly within his right to, she broke the contract, but from a PR perspective it was a nightmare. This is just bad PR, and I'm not sure what the end game is here, what does he think he'll accomplish?

No they don't. He is an owner trying to save what he believes his clients (the fans) want and what has been proven time and time again as NOT offensive.

I'm not on the Snyder bashing bandwagon and haven't been for about 5 years. In 2000 I would have sang a different tune but now he is nowhere near as bad as owners like Jerrah.

Not going anywhere.
Cool. Once the final chapter is written, you shall receive proper accolades/criticisms.

I have said from before we drafted him, I do not think it is a wise move. I have stood by that ever since.
I know that somewhere here, I too, said I would not make the move. Not because of injury worries, but because of my belief that what round a player comes from has almost nothing to do with how he'll turn out in the pros. But, after the move was made, I'm all in. As I have no control over it. And injury can come to anyone, anytime, regardless of history. Worrying about the possibilities strikes me more like playing not to lose, instead of playing to win.

I have repeatedly said, I hope I am wrong.
I certainly can't say don't really feel that way. But I can say, you don't read that way. I could be wrong.

I am not rooting against him, I just have no reason to think he will stay healthy given the last 5 years of his career.
And, so what if he can't? You always seem more excited about the idea of being right about your assertions of his limitations, than you ever do about his accomplishments. Maybe it just doesn't translate well in your written words, concerning him.

It seems more psychotic. Kinda like tr1 talking about Snyder.

Hey, and please join the discussion instead of taking personal pot shots...please.
What discussion? This is nothing more than ANOTHER of your "Snyder is the devil and stole my teddy bear" posts.

You know NOTHING about the decisions being made by him or his attorneys, yet you continue with this boorish BS, and pot shot away at the guy.

Practice what you preach cowboy.

Yeah, you can look at it that way. I look at it as defending myself against the repeated attacks I receive for suggesting there are deficiencies on this team or with Robert…as if it means I am less a fan.

Paranoid? Maybe…psychotic? Well, that's just your cynicism coming out.
