Official Game Thread at Eagles

I feel better about 10-6 today than I did prior to the Eagles game.
Wow I can't believe anyone thinks this team is going to win 10 games, especially after the loss of Hall. I hope you're right but I think we're in for another sub.500 season, this D will stop no one.

So, all of you trying to shout down those of us who insisted it wasn't outside the boundaries of the rules and was a legal hit - I don't want to say 'I told you so'.

But I told you so :)

The crow stand is open, happy to serve you guys up a heaping portion, step on up...

BGO has a boycott of that newspaper, they took a stand against the Redskins, and we took a stand against them! http://www.bgobsession.com/sons-washington/85847-should-bgo-stop-promoting-washington-post-redskins-content.html

Anyone who wants to post a Washington Post article here is free to do so. We just aren't promoting their articles via our RSS feeds anymore as we don't feel like we should actively and consistently support a media outlet that goes out of it's way to actively attack, undermine, and besmirch our favorite football franchise.

No member here is restricted in posting whatever they want though.

You ever hear those stupid ****ing Iggle fans chanting?

how about this?

L-E-G-A-L...LEGAL LEGAL LEGAL!!!!

I was wrong...crow is for dinner.

And I certainly did not need the jerk, Booner, telling me to admit it.

Crow goes well with stolen crab legs...lol

My bad, I thought we were not linking any of their articles here anymore!

Ha! Oh you needed it baby, you needed it baaaaad! And that's Bone to you.

Countdown to Ax telling me it doesn't matter what the NFL says - it's coming! And I love you anyway Ax :)

No biggie - we just didn't want to restrict membership or impose our view on everyone else here. Believe it or not, we really try not to tell our members what to do as much as possible!

The way they spoke about it during the game, and the rule that changed some time back, I did agree it wasn't a legal hit by today's standards in this thread. Can I substitute shit for the crow ? So many people have told me to eat it over the years, might as well see what I'm missing.

So since it was a legal hit, not only should it not have been a penalty, but Baker should not have been ejected for that hit. That changed the outcome of the game, those ref's should be fired. If you don't know the rules why the hell are you in a position to affect the outcome of a game??

That's good news. I really didn't want to put in a quote without the link since I'm fairly new here. I know there aren't many rules, but it's been sort of ingrained into my at the other site. I'm more than happy just to pull out quotes if I happen across an article next time. :joyous:

They admit to the teams and the teams usually report it to the media. Its not like they publicly display scoring for the refs which wouldn't be a bad idea. Instead the refs are graded and ranked being given the "bad games" like most of our games for the past 20 years. No its not a mirage, we have had the shittiest referees during our worst seasons. Prime time and highlighted games get the best crews - at least that's how I was lead to believe it worked by some refs I chatted with once.

Well, that certainly makes sense because we've had some crappy refs over the years.

I was wrong.

With the damage already done, it was so nice of the NFL to rub salt in the wound after the fact.

The bastiges.....

Maybe they'll throw a little cap penalty money our way. A guy can dream, right?

Just an aside,
Baker was actually doing his live gig on ESPN 980 talking about the 'block' when the news came out...... he was one happy camper.

I was surprised to hear them say it was legal. I'll admit I was wrong as well. I'm certainly glad that he won't be suspended for it.

My understanding was that there was no penalty for the hit. He was penalized and ejected for the fight only.

There was a penalty for the hit. The ref said Baker was ejected because of the hit.

The ref was wrong to throw the flag and wrong to kick Baker out.
