Random Commanders Thoughts

But the offense could not consistently move the ball under him.
That's more important than some decent stats.

?? I am pretty sure the offense moved the ball just fine under Griffin in the first possession last week? Why do you say they didnt? In fact, if there wasnt an extremely questionable call, that almost everyone felt was a good catch, RG3 would have had quite a few yards on just a few plays overall, correct? He had his way with the Jags D for the little bit we got to see him.

We still lost, which is all that matters.

Of course, Griffin was responsible for everything bad that happened. We get it.

Did the Oline all of a sudden turn into the 91 Hogs on pass pro or is it that one Qb is more decisive than the other and knows where to go with the ball?

Holy let down. I enjoyed the crap our of the game (at the local Skins Bar) but sheesh with the penalties and the Refs at times. Its kind of weird seeing some of my Eagles fan friends act as if they rolled us up in a blowout. They actually are talking that way on FB and on the web in general. I dont think we watched the same game.

Interestingly, the headline at the NFL Game Center page is "Eagles Survive Against Redskins"-a bit more accurate than your Eagles fans, methinks.

Probably a little of both. Very little pressure today.

Either effort the past 2 weeks would've absolutely crushed the Texans in the opener. Too bad we gave that one away.

I take it missed tackles n blown assignments all day? Was it like Rambo was still playing?

Pretty sure that DeAngelo is out for the year. That kind of injury takes about one year to heal. I don't think it ends his tenure as a member of the Redskins, but it will probably move him from corner to safety. CB now becomes a priority in the next draft.

Got a good explanation today. Cousins has to be faster with his reads and delivery because he has limited mobility compared to Griffin. Griffin knows he can often elude defenders with his legs, so he tends to take more time trying to make things happen. It's all about knowing your limits, playing within them, and Cousins has always had to play that way, Griffin hasn't.

That's why I like Aikman as a commentator.

This is a fantastic explanation. A good coach will know how to utilize your players strengths. 2012, we saw it with Griffin. Last year, we saw it with neither QB, but let's not relive that nightmare. I was excited to see what Gruden could do with Griffin this year, but we get to see what he can do with Cousins. Today we saw Cousins able to use his strengths and have his weaknesses limited.

As far as the o-line, let's see the line open up some holes for Morris before we start crowning them. It seems like the team can only open up holes when the scheme allows it or when they can catch the defense playing pass. Morris had little to no room all day today. I guess not having to worry about the QB keeping the ball is letting that extra defender come in and key on Morris. That means the line has to do their job instead of relying on the scheme to open holes.

After watching all these injuries around the league the first three weeks, I'm more convinced than ever that the roster needs to be increased from 53 to 55 and EVERY player should be active. Guessing Richard Crawford is going to be activated from the P.S. tomorrow.

I assume RGIII watched the game on the Fox feed. Wonder what he thinks when they compare him to Cousins? I noticed Aikman never bad mouthed Griffin, but just pointed out their different strengths.

No doubt, our 1st rounder should be best secondary available. Probably need a mid range FA as well.

Do you think DHall can come back as FS given his age?

Oh, and to give credit where credit is due...I thought Polumbus had a good day in pass protection.

It surprised me.
Also, when he did come out w/ his knee issue - Compton came in and didn't miss a beat.

When Polumbus went down, all I could hear in my head was about a million Redskins fans thinking to themselves ... finally! And feeling guilty about it--a little.

Griffin was awesome on Twitter yesterday. Supporting his team. Wish some of yall could just root for the guys who are on the field.

I'm not sure I'd go secondary... were probably going to have a top 10 pick and IF there is a high end O-lineman available we need to sniff at it.... I do want to see something different at SS. We went from quietly consistent to a liability in a hurry.
