Random Commanders Thoughts

Speaking of McCoy, there's a scenario no-one has brought up.
What if, before RG3 is healthy, Cousins starts to resort to his 2013 form, and Cousins gets benched in favor of McCoy.
Scenario is unlikely and undesirable, but it just makes me wonder.

I'd be shocked if he plays another game this season.

If you thought he looked slow and limited last year, imagine adding a dislocated ankle into the mix. He'd be a sitting target.

I agree with this.
I wish they would IR him and get it over with. Well, it might be a little premature to do it right now, but they need to seriously consider that in the near future.
IR-ing him would probably be in everyone's best interests, and we could really use that roster spot too

Yeah Cousins might get hurt at any point and it would suck to have Griffin healthy but unable to play while we watch McCoy and somebody like Grossman take turns stinking the place up.

The best case scenario they give RG is 8 weeks out. But even in the best case scenario, there's a chance it could play out like his knee injury, and it takes him much longer to regain anything close to his previous form, even after he's cleared to play. If he plays in 8 weeks, he could possibly be a shell of his former self, like he was last year. In which case, a Colt McCoy might even be a better option than a mentally hesitant, and physically sluggish RG, in case Cousins gets hurt.

And again, that's all based on a best-case scenario. So you actually need, not one, but TWO unlikely events to happen, for RG to return this year, and do so effectively. You need the best-case scenario for an 8 week return, and you also need him to be without any mental or physical setbacks in performance as he attempts to regain previous form, from head to toe, literally.

So RG is more than likely done for the year, for all intents an purposes.

I remember hearing that. I laughed when he said it, but figured at that point in the game, I was the only one watching. The thing with Simms, he first has to be smart enough to remember he said he wouldn't say the name, then he has to be smart enough to remember not to say it. That's a lot of smart needed for the Tim McCarver of the NFL.

Dunno. I heard hard cast for 10 days then reassess. They are hoping it is a 6-8 week rehab.

It's still hard to believe with the dislocation there was no other damage in his ankle. That's just insane. Hoping for the best news for recovery and he's only out 6-8 weeks.

There's more damage to his ankle, there just not going with it as news. The less they say about the actual injury the better IMO. Joints don't have dislocations / hyper extensions without without some trauma to tendons and ligaments. If they now have moved it from 4 to 6 weeks to 6 to 8, he tore stuff up. Muscles, tendons, and ligaments are what hold joints together for the most part. The good part is, it's the first time the joint dislocated. With repeated dislocations, often the supporting tissue heals looser then it should, making the joint unstable. I have little doubt that the team already knows he's done for the season, but are just trying to avoid the media circus. No doubt he'll be fine in time too.

No, I'm no doctor... But I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.....

I prefer us in the underdog role...The Eagles have embarrassed us a few times. Hopefully, we can reverse that trend.
Rambling around the sports talk radio dial today and absolutely no one gives the Redskins a shot in hell of winning Sunday.

Couldn't even get the standard "If the Redskins do X,they could win the game".

Don't know why, after all these years, I even let that stuff bother me anymore but it does gnaw at me a little.

Y'all know I love old westerns ( red blooded American male, who doesn't?), so the Redskins should look at Philly like Quigley did at Marston: " You ain't Doc Holliday and this ain't Dodge a City".

Let's beat Philly and stand the pundits on their ear.

Guaranteed Ass Whoopin' of the week- featuring the Redskins/Eagles game

Funny stuff

Pay attention to the crawl at the bottom of the screen...lol

I'm really happy this isn't a Sunday or Monday night game. Those primetime venues have been brutal for this team in recent years.

I hate how poorly we normally perform on big stages.

Griffin lit the Eagles up in 2012 so it's not like we don't give some ass kicking's ourselves...Last seaon we got punked in front of God and everyone by the Eagles.

Couldn't see the game due to my shit cable company (thanks GCI). I know we've played 2 underwhelming D's but The offense under Kirk seems legit. Something like 500 this week?!?!

Get the D up to task and we'll be aight.

Either effort the past 2 weeks would've absolutely crushed the Texans in the opener. Too bad we gave that one away.

Holy let down. I enjoyed the crap our of the game (at the local Skins Bar) but sheesh with the penalties and the Refs at times. Its kind of weird seeing some of my Eagles fan friends act as if they rolled us up in a blowout. They actually are talking that way on FB and on the web in general. I dont think we watched the same game.

Griffin played well in the opener.
