Random Commanders Thoughts

I beleive there is already an ongoing movement to get Phil Simms to not call any more Broncos games after he was openly cheering for the Chefs last weekend. Maybe we can all band together to get him off the air.

He shouldn't be calling any games. The guy can't finish a complete sentence. I found this twitter account a few years ago that tweets all the random and confusing things he says during games. If you want some laughs, it's worth reading through it. For the life of me, I don't know how this guy watches every game Phil Simms does. I would go insane.

A totally senseless question... any idea about when this game was over? Next week against the Giants, my boss has already told me I can be late so I can stay home and watch it (and join you guys in chat), but I need to give her some idea when I'll be in.

And on another GOOD NEWS note.... MY AREA IS GETTING THE EAGLES GAME this Sunday. So I will see you all in chat and will be watching right along with you instead of having to rely on descriptions. I'm a happy camper!

Thanks! I need to let my boss know Monday how late I will be on Thursday. Roughly. She knows I can't give an absolute, I think she wants to know more that I'll be in no later than 12:30-1 (I usually come in at 11)... and it takes me 15 minutes to get here.

HTTR!

Some say the game was over, once the Falcons went up 14-0, but many say that game was over as soon as the Bucs walked on the field ;)

Okay Fear... that's a good one... I'll go tell my boss I'll be in as soon as the Giants walk on the field next Thursday night ;) ::grin::

There was an interesting note out of RJ in Vegas this morning on ESPN. RJ is basically the Schefter of all things gambling related in Vegas.

He went through the entire league, on a player-by-player basis, and released some interesting stats about how much a certain player's absence from a game would move the point spread.

As an example, when Adrian Peterson doesn't play, the spread moves 2 1/2 points in the other direction. BTW, he's the highest impact, non-QB player in the league.

QBs have a much bigger impact. When Carson Palmer doesn't play, the line moves 3 1/2 points in the other direction. Certainly not a superstar QB by any means, but a pretty solid QB.

The better QBs see much bigger swings. like Brady, Brees etc.

RG3? 0 points. Vegas doesn't care if he plays or not.

That either says a lot about how little value they put on him as a QB, or says a lot about how good they believe Cousins is.

Or that maybe they think were going to be bad either way?

No, the point spread would still swing.

If Brees goes out, it swings by more than 8 points.

A lesser Carson Palmer, 3 1/2 points.

RG3? 0 points.

So they either think he sucks, or that Cousins is just that good. Basically, that the two are equal.

We had one person who picked them. But just like when you make a stupid pick, that's for God and me to know :)

Was it monkey and dartboard? That guy is always a kidder.

Monkey and a Dartboard also went TB :)

Dunno. I heard hard cast for 10 days then reassess. They are hoping it is a 6-8 week rehab.

It's still hard to believe with the dislocation there was no other damage in his ankle. That's just insane. Hoping for the best news for recovery and he's only out 6-8 weeks.

I'd be shocked if he plays another game this season.

If you thought he looked slow and limited last year, imagine adding a dislocated ankle into the mix. He'd be a sitting target.

I tend to agree with you and really would be surprised to see him back out there after such a gnarly-looking injury. 6-8 weeks seems like wishful thinking to me, but then again I haven't seen the MRI nor have I been through med school  There are just so many variables involved, including how these next several weeks go with Cousins at the helm.

Never a dull moment.

Rambling around the sports talk radio dial today and absolutely no one gives the Redskins a shot in hell of winning Sunday.

Couldn't even get the standard "If the Redskins do X,they could win the game".

Don't know why, after all these years, I even let that stuff bother me anymore but it does gnaw at me a little.

Y'all know I love old westerns ( red blooded American male, who doesn't?), so the Redskins should look at Philly like Quigley did at Marston: " You ain't Doc Holliday and this ain't Dodge a City".

Let's beat Philly and stand the pundits on their ear.

so...McCoy is now activated I assume. best hope the right side of the line learns pass pro in a hurry
