MMA: UFC, Strikeforce, etc.

Well, got a call from a friend about 2 hours ago with an extra ticket to tonight's card in Baltimore. Going to see my 1st UFC card live. Our seats are on the first row not on the floor which means the best seats in the house...the fighters will be about level with us, we don't have to look up. and the Baltimore arena is kinda small so we should be close enough I don't have to watch the screen to see the action.

Debating trying to bring my camera to the event. I know I would never get in with my telephoto, but I might try to take my wife's 18-200 zoom lens. Ugh! I would hate to have to walk all the way back to the car if they didn't let me in.

Oh and Jon "Bones" Jones loses his title tonight...bet!

I would love to see Rumble Johnson vs Jon Jones...

I had wondered where Rumble went..its good to see him back and humble. And HUGE!!

and Glover is gonna knock out Jones, right? lol

Rumble has a hell of a chin and just defeated the #5 (?) 205er in the world in his first fight ever at 205. He has a hell of a chin and amazing power. I am not saying he can beat Jones but it would be a hell of a fight.

First, I never predicted Glover would KO Jones.
I said it could happen. And it could happen in a single punch.
You're the one the made the actual prediction that Jones would TKO Glover, which didn't exactly happen either.
Also, I never said that Jones would KO Rumble, so Rumble's chin is not really relevant. The phrase I used "picking him apart", is not a synonym for a KO. What I was visualizing, was a gradual wear-down of Rumble, with Jones winning by unanimous decision.
As for beating Phil Davis, I don't see it as such a monumental achievement, because IMO Phil Davis should have never been ranked as high as he is. He had no business being ranked 4 or 5. He just isn't that good. He's a wrestler and that's it. And even with his wrestling, he couldn't even get a single takedown on Rumble. Over-rated and one-dimensional.

meh...I'm not one for back and forth.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Its what makes this site work.

Rumble's next fight is against Rogerio Nogueira, who isn't even in the Top 15.
This fight makes no sense at all, after what he did to Davis.
The opposite would have made more sense than this - fighting Lil Nog first, and then Davis.

Yeah, that's a head scratcher. Maybe they are trying to groom him and not just thrust him up there like they did Rich Franklin and leave him exposed by stronger dudes.

Yo no se. But I've always like that kid. For a while there when he first came out I had him confused with Jones.

I didn't know that Matt brown witnessed dimebag darrells death. Sad story to hear him tell it

Veteran UFC light heavyweight Chael Sonnen has failed a drug test, forcing him out of his bout with Vitor Belfort at UFC 175 in Las Vegas next month.

he is done anyways. all he does is talk like a WWE wrestler and lose. but I will say that he is a great face on TV when he isn't acting like a jackhole.

He beat Shogun pretty easily.

You dont think Shogun has fallen off since his prime some?

And who knows if Chael wasn't on what is illegal now.
