Something about signing a SS who was literally the worst tackler in the entire league last season concerns me.

I'm getting "Rambo trying to tackle a RB" flashbacks. Not exactly what you want from a SS who will be contributing in run support.
 
I'm fine with it though. Not like my opinion matters....

We have a lot of holes to fill, and only so many resources to fill them.

- Free Safety; 6 feet/210

- 4 ints last season

- $725K last season

So the Skins I guess are thinking a decent safety who will come at $2-3 mil/season vice $9 to $10 mil/season for Byrd or Ward. Which suggests two things to me: they expect one of their draftees from last year to improve; or, they want to spend their big FA moneys on a different position (Talib?). I'm discounting the probability of a high S draft pick given the picks they pickled last season on secondary.

Are we looking at one splashy signing and everyone else being cap "easy"? is that gong to be the strategy?

I'd imagine somewhere in the middle. The only splashy move I can see that would make sense is Jared Allen.. and I haven't made my mind up if I want to spend that money. I got a report on my phone today that we've been in talks with Byrd, but I'm sure that's been said to drive down the asking price of whoever we want to bring in here...
 
I have had enough safeties we bring in that either can't tackle or run faster than a linebacker.

No to Mitchell. He was on a very good defense where his weaknesses were not exposed as they would be coming here.

Why would he want to come back here, he said he hated it here and couldn't wait to get out, seems like he wants a bigger payday than what he might get elsewhere.
