The TV Show suggestion thread

Happy hour starts in 5 minutes
At the urging of several dozen people, and many members here, I set out to finally start watching Orange Is The New Black. I made it 2/3 of the way into the first episode, and turned it off. I was bored out of my damn mind. I don't know if it suddenly gets leaps and bounds better or what, but even the massive nudity isn't enough for me to offset the horribly slow and boring pace of the pilot. That, and I detest Jason Biggs. Anyone who thought it would be wise to place him in a dramatic role is an idiot. You literally only think of American Pie when you see him, and it takes away from what's supposed to be going on.

Oh, I watched two episodes of Modern Family in the past few days, and they were both hilarious. Is it always crazy funny with the subtle humor and stuff, or did I get lucky?
 
OITNB=WYSIWYG I've watched the first season. To me it's okay but it's not appointment television.

Modern Family is always like that and always funny.

Orange is the New Black does get much better, and it does start a little slow. It's the same creator as "Weeds," with similar humor. If you like that show, you'll like Orange.

I guess I expected more of it from all the hype, and it just fell pretty flat for me. I wanted something more like Oz, and it felt more like a made for tv lifetime special. With a lot of nudity :laugh:

I just finished the 2nd season of House of Cards. While I loved the first season, I was pretty disappointed with the 2nd season. Big step down. After the first couple of episodes it just got more and more predictable. I felt like I was slogging through the rest of the episodes, merely because I had started watching the season.
 
I've heard good things about Resurrection. Missed it this week though.

Loving "The Blacklist" on NBC.

I liked the First and 2nd seasons of Scandal, but this season has gotten just too stupid to even continue watching. So disappointed, it was so good for awhile.

And for those who have not yet seen it, National Geographic's "Naked and Afraid" is awwwwwesome. I absolutely love that show, it's just crazy, the people and the conditions they're thrown into.

I'm not sure, but I think there was a thread on this subject, and if there was, I don't think I can find it.
But can you all recommend a service that gives you TV Channels via the internet, as opposed to using cable or dish ?
A lot of options come up in a google search, but I was wondering which ones had a good reputation.
I'm not looking for one that just plays certain movies or TV shows, or some kind of "on-demand" shows, but rather one that basically offers packages of channels, similar to what cable and dish offer.

Hulu, Netflix and RabbitTV seem to be the ones I hear about the most. I hated Netflix when I had it, because it's severely limited in what you can watch without paying extra. RabbitTV is a total waste of money, because all it does is pull up each show's website for you to watch available videos (and most are not full episodes, they're clips or advertisements) and I have never used Hulu or known anyone who had it. I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I hear about the most.
