Thats a pretty impressive stat for a team with an average running game and an average QB. We'll win some games if we can do that.

Goal to go percentage: When the Bengals got a first down at the ten yard line or closer they were close to automatic, getting at TD 84 percent of the time, best in the NFL. The Redskins managed to punch it in 73.1 percent of the time, 13th in the league.

I assume the point you're making is that he is a superior play caller.

let's hope, after fixing the lines :), that he finds an AJ Green and matures Reed into a Gresham!

Gresham caught 46 balls for 461 yards and 4TDs in 14 games.
Reed caught 45 balls for 499 yards and 3TDs in 9 games.

I think Reed is already there. Let's see if Gruden can mature him into a Vernon Davis or Jimmy Graham. :)

Once someone has a concussion, they are more prone to having another one. With the new testing & standards in place, we're going to see a lot more concussions (I believe they were already there, they were just playing through them). Hopefully Reed can avoid another one, but its highly unlikely.

Fans need to rememeber that Reed was a QB his entire life, including at Florida.

He then moved to TE to get on the field.

He's not used to a lot of contact.

Maybe since Haslett was going to be getting paid anyway they kept him around but wont run the defense. Lets hope anyway. He can bring drinks to DS and the real DC up in their booths. I actually wonder why Kyle wasn't kept around to be the OC since the offense isn't going to change all that much. The talk about him and RG3 not getting along well must have been at least partially true.

Gresham was in the playoffs...Reed was not. Gresham had a complementing TE who wasn't too bad either.

What does that prove? Nothing, except that he was on a better team. Gresham was wildly inconsistent and by all accounts disappointing this season...if that is the benchmark you want for Jordan, I will definitely agree to disagree.

the only point I was making is that comparison of one season stats is pretty meaningless when it comes to rookies who did not stand out. Reed has the potential to be a star. but he isn't one now and he was in and out. Lanky cherry picked Gresham's lowest production season! in the event, Gresham has played four seasons and is one of the better TEs in the league. when Reed gets to be an established pro - awesome!

Last season was the anomaly, not the other way around. His first two seasons look a lot like this one. Slightly better, yes, but not astronomically so. And you're still ignoring the fact that Reed matched him in 5 fewer games.

Projected over a full season, Reed would have had 80/888/5, better than Gresham's best, by a lot.

I agree with you though. IF we were to add an A.J. Green type, you would see a very scary offense, exponentially more effective in the redzone.
 
Adding AJ Green to any offense would increase its productivity...that's a no-brainer. We've got Garçon & Reed, talent wise they match up nicely with Green & Gresham, IMO (assuming Reed continues his upward movement).

Gruden admitted he has to adapt to the talent he has.

Griffin is nothing like Dalton.

Morris is nothing like Bernard.

Garçon and AJ Green are not really comparable either.

The offenses are going to look very different.

Did Joe Gibbs' offense here look like the Chargers under Coryell?

The comment was made that hopefully Gruden will mature Jordan Reed into a Jermaine Gresham. My point is that Jermaine Gresham is not that good, so hopefully he is matured into a better TE like Vernon Davis or Jimmy Graham. :)
 
Hope the team has looked into one of the new designs of helmets for extra protection for Reed. Welker sported one this weekend. Couldn't hurt
