J.I. Halsell, ESPN 980 NFL Salary Cap Expert, says the Redskins are in a position that is light years better than it was in 2009 in terms of contracts, youth, etc. Shanahan may have missed on many acquisitions, but he missed cheaply instead of expensively.
Also said that as long as Allen is here the Redskins will remain in good salary cap positions (maybe suggesting Shanahan had less to do with it, and it was all Allen??)
