2013 NCAA Football Season

BB, rumors are that he may be headed to Dallas. One more huge asshole to hate!

That would be fine by me. His brand would not fit in the NFL. Chippy will fall to earth too.

China, that MSU rebound in the 4th quarter was something else. I really thought they might fold under the pressure after 24 unanswered points. That was a great display in the 4th quarter. And I would love to see that Dennard kid on the edge in DC.

Edit: Oh yeah... GO NOLES! National Championship game in Pasadena! Hey Mike, I am looking at rates for SoCal in January!

Just watched the halftime show of the Army Navy game, Winston needs to learn how to speak english. That was pathetic

Well, I guess all the Heismann voters who "couldn't vote for Manziel because of his ethics" had no such reservations about Winston, who was in a ten times more serious situation.

Based on his play only, he clearly deserved the award (maybe the 2000 yard rusher from Boston College deserved it also). I just wish there had been more effort in the investigation.

More effort in the investigation? Who are you to say there wasn't enough "effort"? I told you it was exhaustive and didn't paint a good light on the accuser..."Cleat Chaser". And now that the District Attorney has declined to prosecute, you automatically assume it's because of Winston's stature. The only thing that was proven is that Winston used poor judgment by having sex with a girl whose goal was to have sex with a star football player and cheated on his girlfriend. If that warrants your disdain for the kid, so be it. But stop talking as if there wasn't enough "effort" in the investigation of this case. You have no clue! You only think you know...

Seems like the same ol' pattern to me, and that they really only did a superficial type investigation.

I read all 84 pages related to the investigation that were released by the police department and all 258 or so released by the State Attorney.

After doing so I feel bad for two groups of people- Winston and his family for being dragged through the mud by what clearly appears to be a false allegation, and the accusers family who have found out some very difficult truths about their loved one.

There were no winners here.

There is something wrong with a system where an accuser is afforded anonymity and the accused is allowed to be tried in the court of public opinion. Winston was considered to be guilty by an un- or under-informed majority prior to the investigation being completed, and continues to be now.

A common cry during the process was "what if this was YOUR daughter?"?

Well, what if this were your son?

I agree in spirit but you've come to the wrong conclusion. BOTH parties (accused and accuser) should have remained anonymous, at least until an arrest was made. You can't really suggest that the victim of a sex crime be forced to have their identity revealed no matter whether they are credible or not. In this case, that woman would have been harassed, possibly threatened with violence. But I also agree that it's unfair to have unsubstantiated accusations publicly thrown at someone.

I have come to the wrong conclusion? How did you come to that one?

Where did I suggest or conclude that the accuser should be identified? From this line?

I think you're assuming facts that are not in evidence.

I think your line about something being 'wrong with a system that affords anonymity to the accuser' led me to believe you were suggesting that shouldn't be the case... And when I said 'you' I wasn't referring to you personally. My point was, both parties deserve anonymity particularly since in any given situation it is impossible at the outset to know if a crime has been committed and by whom.

It sounds like you agree.

China's heart has to be pounding right now! The Rose Bowl is one of the best bowl games I have seen yet. finally, some quality football.

Congratulations to the Michigan State Spartans on their win in the 100th Rose Bowl!

Congrats China!

Woo hoo!

We don't get to the Rose Bowl very often, but when we do we win it. :)
