Wash Post: Redskins Work Out Darrell Green's Son, 17 Others Tuesday

The Washington Redskins on Tuesday worked out 18 players, including wide receiver Jared Green, the son of Hall of Fame cornerback Darrell Green.

Jared Green, who spent the 2012 season on Carolina’s practice squad, signed with the Cowboys this offseason but didn’t survive the final round of roster cuts.

Another notable player that worked out for the Redskins was fourth-year veteran Myron Lewis, a cornerback, who played for Washington defensive backs coach Raheem Morris when Morris served as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Another one of the more experienced players to work out for Washington on Tuesday was wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, who spent the last five seasons with the Cleveland Browns. The 6-2, 207-pound Massaquoi appeared in 54 games, starting 43 of them and recording 118 catches for 1,745 yards and seven touchdowns.

It also seems heavy on WR. Hank looks good. Maybe they are losing patience with Aldrick, or are preparing for Morgan's departure.

I do love seeing the coaches trying to improve the roster.

tackle Jason Smith , wow, drafted 2nd overall and can't stick with anybody.
anyone know the scoop on this guy?

I'd love him to come in and help on the right side. With that said, I just googled him, and I'm not sure that I've ever read a less complimentary piece about a player.....aside from Tebow.

It appears he was a converted tight end from Baylor.

Check out how nasty, and borderline unprofessional this writer seems:

Geez, tough tag on the guy. The 'turnstile' moniker seems familiar, think we got some already.

Green needs to stick.

Not just because of his last name, but because the kid can fly. If he can't make it here as a WR, then convert him to a CB.

He also has a great coach he can call on the phone 24/7.

Jared Green is here to potentially scout the Cowboys, I'm sure. I don't think he's NFL caliber, unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong.

SMGDH at anyone who thinks jared green's workout is nothing more than a favor for his father.

He was most recently on the roster of our next opponent. "SMGDH" at anyone who doesn't think they want whatever information he can provide.

The Redskins are always looking at corners and given how poor Wilson and Biggers have played you can't blame them.

I think most thought after the draft that Amerson would come in and be the third or fourth corner the first few weeks learning the ropes.

The fact he was pressed into starting this early is evidence of how underwhelming the others were.

Next year I don't see anyone but Amerson coming bsck.

Hall, Wilson and Biggers will be gone.

The Cowboys offense looks the same as last year's version. Same personnel as well.

I don't think the Redskins are going to learn much from Jared Green

Lewis is someone they are probably more serious about at this point.

I doubt Green is very valuable at this point. I think Shanahan and Haslett can get more from film from the 5 weeks they'll have before the game.

If anything (other than them liking something they saw) it's because his father called up Allen/Snyder and asked for a favor.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The kid may show them something that earns him a spot, and his father was such a huge part of this team for so long that the kid deserves the chance. It's a workout, not a contract. There's no harm in giving the kid an afternoon to show us he was overlooked.

It wouldn't be the first time a person got a job they were perfectly capable of doing, but needed a favor from someone to prove it.

One of the first thing the WRs learn are signals & audibles. He may not provide much information, but they don't know how much until he actually provides it. :)

And I believe Green was cut on the last cut down day.

I don't know if players actually get pumped for info, just from a workout, and not actually getting signed

Lank does. They most certainly know so much about the offense that they are flown in just to be a super-spy. Get real people. The kid had a cup of coffee in Dallas yet he is expected to know more about the offense than our coaches can learn watching film?

The whole get information from someone who barely had a chance to learn his own assignments is laughable... everytime it happens.

Yeah, you're right. What teams install their offense during the preseason and training camp? That's RIDICULOUS.

I don't know what I did to you, but I apologize for pissing in your Cheerios. Maybe one day you can move on? I promise you it was not intentional.

Hasn't Robinson dropped like everything his way? Somebody call up Thrash, he had some sticky hands.
