The team has little to lose with Jackson. Gomes and Pugh are waiver quality players. Even if Jackson is reinstated and it takes till the bye week to have him ready it's worth it.

If Washington is able to come out strong, the additions of Rob Jackson, Jarvis Jenkins and T Jackson after the bye week depth wise could make this defense a real catalyst toward repeating in the East.

Hard to hang your hat on Jackson, being out for all this time, his obvious problems and the fact that he admits he is still a work in progress...

But I have to agree. Ma doo doo, Pew, Gohomes, Brittle Merriweather, and don't forget Burnstein... man our safety group has been putrid the last few years.
 
Thomas going down really hurt our depth and that is the primary reason I think Shanahan rolls the dice on Jackson or another veteran that may become available.

Yeah..when that player is on the field.. hopefully he doesn't see any time at all... But he has a a quicker recovery then a starting wr or rb who this injury usually effects

It's not him, it's Nike. They paid a lot of money to have NFL players wearing their gear on camera. Not a fan of Goodell but Nike has a point, especially considering Griffin did this all last year. I'm assuming Addidas is paying the fines, so Griffin probably doesn't care. I wonder how many uniform violations you have to have before you get suspended...
 
I don't understand Fletcher's motive in disclosing that he played majority of last season with the effects of a concussion. In my book that makes him sound like a complete idiot. I'm sure many people will choose to see it as a player putting himself in harms way for the sake of the team; to me it's a guy doing something that is known to cause a significantly debilitating mental condition at a relatively young age.

And it's at a time where former players are currently suing his current employer. Players that weren't paid millions of dollars to play the game.

I'm curious if it'll cause the NFL to investigate the Redskins for how they deal with injuries; I assume so.

If the players are going to lie to you and not look out for their own health, why should coaches? What's are they supposed to do? Guess how you're feeling?

Well, it'd be more like saying no facebook using the company network, then doing it anyway.

I'm assuming the NFL considers pregame to be company time, given how much video is shot of it. Same with press conferences. I think the whole arrangement is stupid, but if you're going to have Nike pay all that money and then divide a portion of it up among the players then you need to respect the rules.

You know that's what worries me nowadays.....the fact that Goodell is such an ass that he makes an example out of it.

I can honest to God see him and his life partner Mara scheme up a suspension....wouldn't put it past them at all. That or some way tie the fines to our available cap.
 
What bugs me the most is that cool-ass t-shirt has NOTHING to do with player safety so why do you fine him the same effing amount as a late hit out of bounds or a helmet-to-helmet hit? Pure stupidity!

Its just business. NFL protecting their brand relationships. At least it wasn't Urlacher and his $100,000 fine for a friggin baseball cap!!! :whoknows:
 
Griff is laughing all the way to the bank. His deal from Adidas more than covers the fine. He knows it and so does Adidas - a wink and nod agreement.
 
No offense to H.S. football, but I think it's BS that ESPN has to stoop to, or resort to showing a H.S. game, at the same time that the THIRD NFL preseason game is going on.
Well, what do you expect from a network, that considers Poker to be a sport.
