Random Commanders Thoughts

Fred Davis is dumb.

As in, stupid.

As in, lacks intelligence.

Yes, literally, definitively, stupid.

It would not be surprising to catch him sitting in a pile of his own excrement, eating it.

Very curious as to these developments this morning...

Haha that lame ass celebration Sleepy did cost him almost $8k. That'd be really funny if it wasn't sad. Rambo better be careful or his signing bonus might be gone before the season starts!

Y! SPORTS

This is the height of douchebaggery on the part of the NFL. Every freakin' 15 yard penalty brings an effin' fine. It should be enough that you cost your team 15 yards but a fine for a celebration? COME ON, MAN!

I have watched Rambo's hit over and over and I'm convinced that should NOT have been called. Green had just crossed into the corner of the end zone and was pushed while STILL IN BOUNDS. VERY borderline but since it was called, it's an automatic fine. I really hate that ****!

Refs are essentially determining fines when throwing flags. That's WRONG and everything I hate about the refs and the NFL. I hate Goodell and his minions even more than I hate the Pukes. Oh, and while I'm ranting, **** Mara!!!

Ludicrous fines like these are just another excuse for a revenue generator, because we all know the NFL is going bankrupt, and needs all the help they can get. Surprised they havn't set up a charity to solicit donations, to "keep the league alive while it's on life support" :rolleyes2:

They need to show that they are putting their best foot forward in regards to injuries. They are in full CYA mode due to all the players involved in the concussion lawsuits. The game is changing rapidly right before our eyes. I don't like it either, but that's the direction it will go in with no compromises. These fines? At least I can understand them even if I don't agree with them.

Fining someone for "dancing" for 5 seconds? I can only try to think like an asshole so much. They should have tried a little give and take with the players in regards to celebrations. The injury concerns are a major factor. Hiding behind Taunting though? How about holding players responsible for keeping their emotions in check after they get scored on instead of patting them on the head and telling them "its OK Johnny, I'll tell him not to have fun because you suck"

That is the straight up douchebaggery in my eyes.

To the best of my knowledge all on field fine money DOES get used for the NFL's charitable contributions. So its not a direct revenue generator but a thinly veiled bait and switch with players salary being used to make the NFL look good in public eyes. I know the NFL contributes much more than just this fine money, but they shouldn't be able to contribute any of this "fine money" as the NFL... if anything, at very least, these "contributions" should be labeled as coming from the NFLPA. Because the players are funding NFL endeavors and to the best of my knowledge have no say where that money goes.

I remember Ryan Clark bitching about it during the lockout when nobody had health coverage and everyone had medical needs. He wanted the NFL to use the money specifically for them (you know, since it was money stolen from them in the first place) :D

I forgot to ask earlier but how did our special teams look without the gum?

Yeah well we all knew it was a big question mark right? Totally sucks after seeing the lift he brought last year when he did actually play. Bad wheel is a bad wheel man, looks like our biggest issue from last year is still an issue, but hopefully adding Amerson and Rambo to the mix will bring it up a tick or two. Hopefully we can get a little pass rush to help the young'uns out in the back end and get through this dark period for our D.

Win4us I can't really say anything about ST... didn't really standout to me, I was much more concerned about our defense. I guess that's a good thing right there. Wondering if Niles Paul even makes the team with our depth at TE, hoping they find a way to keep him on ST because he's a player, Skye Daqwson reminds me of Banks, don't see him hanging on. Punt/Kick returner is a question I guess, coverage seemed adequate and we didn't get any kicks blocked like Pittsburg did since Smith went there :D

Well, we don't know if he "needed" to take a break, or if Shanny is being extra cautious with Meriweather, too. Do we?

Can't remember where but I read that Brandon makes it a day then has pain and swelling then takes a break then practices and gets pain and swelling again. It doesn't look good, but I dig your view and hope you're right!

Appreciate the input DM. Yeah I'll settle for solid play on st's any day over worrying about a blocked kick/punt.

I figure the D has the most room to improve over last season. The youth/speed in the secondary should help a ton. The line is what worries me the most, we just don't seem to have that pocket collapser up front. Someone to go right along with Rak and Kerrigan. Closest we've had IMO was Carriker.

It is curious to me that a 3-4 defense is looking for rush stats from its DEs. You don't usually get many sacks from those positions.

In the middle I remember reading that Barry Cofield was among the leaders last year in pressures from the NT spot.

Perhaps the team can use a hybrid with Brandon Jenkins, Orakpo and Kerrigan all on the field on long yardage downs?

This has always been my thought; 3-4 DEs are not there to generate sacks, but to collapse the pocket and flush the qb to the pass- rushing olbs.

Rich Campbell accepted a job at the Chicago Tribune. That's a loss for the fans :(
