PFT: Redskins, Cowboys could go “nuclear” over cap mess

I was away all last week, and find it hard to believe this subject has completely died...

What's the buzzz.

Haven't heard a peep. Looks like they hope everybody forgets about it, and they can slide the resolution under the door without notice.

Which has been my contention all along. This will get dealt with and ultimately settled behind the scenes, and the outcome will be based on all kinds of angles that we will never hear about. It will satisfy team and the league, but not the fans or media because they won't know all the ancillary parts.

It is always thus.

while i agree with you that that's the path they're taking...

i think we're going to know full well what was done. if there's anything our local media is actually good for, it's finding out way too much information about the on going's of redskins park.

it may not be the national story it once was, but we'll know exactly what was done and why (or at least identify what was 'behind close doors' and guess at what was behind the decision)

This is not going to go away quietly. Too many po'ed skinsfans will expect no less than half of the cap stolen from us returned.

This area has plenty of lawyers and fledgling politicians (that are pro-union) who could see this backlash towards the skins and cowpokes for not being a part of the collusion, as a means to make a name for themselves

There are a few scenarios in which we would make the playoffs and the Giants would not. there are even a couple where we AND the Cowboys would go and the Giants don't. if either of these scenarios happen, I will be reminding my Giants fans friends about what a bitch karma can be.

The idea of Snyder suing the league and actually holding up free agency, well let's say, it's like viagra

oh and F*** Mara and F*** Goodell

I don't know that there's any benefit in talking this option up. You do it, or you don't. I actually think it has more shock value if you do it without much fanfare. Goodell isn't going to pay any attention to talk. Do it, put the start of free agency at risk, and you might get some attention.

I have to believe that if there were any chance at all the Redskins could win this in a legal battle, they'd have gone there long ago. That being said, screw Goodell and I hope we fight it in every way we can.

The Dan to his lawyer army "at my signal...unleash hell"!!!!!

It seems like the only real leverage is holding up the start of Free Agency. That could create a logistical nightmare. This really is **** or get off the pot time.

If it works, I hope they wait until the morning of Free Agency, take it to a Circuit Court Judge who is Union friendly who may simply grant the injunction to stop the start of Free Agency until the case is heard. Like someone said, if there was a legitimate legal avenue, I believe we would already have taken it.

Who knows? Maybe Snyder is willing to alienate himself from the rest of the owners more than he already has. Maybe there are some of the younger crew of owners who will stand up to the old school Mara and Rooney's of the league.

**** Mara!

That would be awesome if the team went ahead & dropped this on the NFL the day before free agency, just like they did to us last year.

**** Mara indeed!!!

Saw this on ES. God bless ya, Huly.

As he says, that's the simple answer.

Mind you, it's simply wrong. Simply stupid. Simply assinine. (choose your favorite or add your own)

Hey Roger, I got another simple answer for ya: you're a douchbag.

I wish she had followed up and asked why many teams were allowed to spend below the salary floor...

The ultimate irony of this bull**** is that Goodell & Mara are stripping the Redskins of competitive advantage to preserve the competitive advantage. So asinine.
