The TV Show suggestion thread

Am I the only one else who was thinking about the chick on House when you guys were talking about "Cutty"?

Shows I've stayed with from the beginning that I still enjoy...
Newsroom
Dexter(although the shark is circling)
Homeland
Shameless
Californication
House of lies
SOA
Breaking bad

Recently discovered Banshee but need to catch up.

Also wanted to watch Justified so downloaded 1st and 2nd seasons for our offseason.

Sucker for all things Gold mining on DSC
Also a sucker for deadliest catch, swords on the line, lobstermen, fish wars, wicked tuna.

I've got sat tv on the boat but no dvrs (old sat system) so if I miss anything I have ever to find it on the Internet... Makes me play catch up.

Never saw madmen, walking dead and several others I'll have to watch marathon style, any other suggestions let me know if tryout to get full seasons with p2p which is pretty successful.

I really like The Good Wife. Not sure it it's on Netflix though. I am up to the current season playing TV now (Season 4, I think).

Damages was good too. I love Glenn Close.

In the middle of Season 3 of The Wire. This is one of my favorite shows of all time.

DM I especially love 2 on your list. Shameless and Dexter are definitely on my DVR to-do list. The players from Shameless work so well together, very good job by the casting department. That and Emmy Rossum ain't too bad on the eyes either.

Agree on Dexter as well, there's only so many more story directions left they can go in though.

BTW i'm an addict for Game of Thrones, awesome series!

Probably not alot of Kevin Bacon fans but have you guys seen the series "The Following"? He and the show are pretty darn good.

I tried Game of Thrones just never could get into it. The following had me from the first episode great show right now.

They all start off so good sometimes. I pulled late night marathons for Justified last week/this weekend. Season 1 was awesome... just finished season 2 and it was so so. Was like a good writer quit or something. I just finished downloading season three and hope that it is more comparable to season 1.

:thud: Huh? Season 2, imo, was one of the best seasons of TV I have seen in a LONG time. I thought season 3 was very good, but they had too many bad guys, it got distracting. With season 4, they're trying a mystery concept and I like it a lot so far.

But I seriously thought Mags Bennett was a GREAT villian, and that season as a whole was lights out, imo.

Just comparing it to season 1.

I watched all 13 in a row was like a book you couldn't put down. Season 2 just wasn't the same. Still a good show, I was just not into 2 as much as 1. I think the subplots about his exwife (freaking hot), her husbands shenanigans and then the bag of money thing was just forced.

The ex wife is a great character you can just drool over and hate at the same time, but the whole season she was just forced in there too much.

Agree with Maggs.

Looking forward to starting 3!

Let me know what you think of 3. I liked it, and it does have a little follow up with the bag of money which is humorous more than anything else.

EDIT: Loved Margo Martindale and nearly wet myself when she showed up on the Americans last week, also produced by Graham Yost.

Sure will... been watching the Americans too...

Missed last week so I guess i have that to look forward to. Trying to like it, can't put my finger on it but I missed a couple episodes first runs, and didn't go crazy about missing them. Glad that a lot of shows are run multiple times now (cable)... really helps being able to keep up for us who are dvr-less and on-demand-less.

Here's one that is a little different than has been mentioned.

I love Aerial America on the Smithsonian Channel.

For those not familiar, they are 60 minute documentaries of the 50 states from an aerial perspective. Not only are the scenes incredible, but they give a great deal of historical information.

I enjoyed Season 1 of 'Lilyhammer' too, Steve Van Zandt just awesome in it. Wondering if there will ever be a Season 2 though - it's been awhile...my Dad recommended it so that adds some sentimental value.

Season 2 started filming last month. It was delayed due to the Springsteen tour.

My wife is addicted to Once Upon A Time. If they showed it every day, she'd watch it every day.

I watched Zero Hour from my DVR yesterday, awesome new show. It's like a combination of The DaVinci Code and National Treasure.

Ya gotta be a sci-fi nerd (like me) to appreciate Battlestar Gallactica. It aired from 05-09ish but holy cow it was good imo.

Since i mentioned throwbacks gotta go with Deadwood too!

I almost cried when Deadwood ended. Probably the series that left fans wanting more, moreso than any I can remember.

bunch of cocksuckers

Ditto. At least they didn't run it into the ground like so many other shows. I wish they would have put more out though... great characters especially Wu!!!

Glad I taught you that word ****ing word Wu....
Were they white?

Yes

WHITE!!

Cocksuckers!!!!

No doubt, that was one of the few shows you're like "dammit to hell, i have to wait a week for the next one".

Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) just brought it every week. That dude pretty much stole every scene he was in. I also liked the doc, he had some funny lines as well.

I only watched Deadwood a couple times, and just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll give it another try, because I've heard such good things about it.
