Part of me almost dreads seeing us get hot, make a run deep into the playoffs, and end up facing Rodgers ... or Ryan ... or even Brady or Manning ... with all the chips on the table.
Lanky, the issue isnt our TOP, our offence starting to move the ball better and our use of each down makes the difference there, the defence though allows teams to move the ball in large chunks and teams do seem to run a lot of plays against us. its improved but like Om said I worry about playing a great qb or RB with chips on the line.
I agree with the general assessment here, though I would say safeties are more of a need than corner at the moment. Are corners are mediocre but our safeties are atrocious.

I've seen the big plays and the majority of the brain farts on the big passing plays came from the CBs, leaving the safeties exposed in situations they shouldnt be in.
We lost the first Giants game on the long ball to Cruz when Williams bit up and let Cruz get behind him. That wasn't the CB's fault.
Just sayin'.
And how much would you like to have that one game back right now?
I get your point ST. I do. I just disagree in which group is weaker is all. Right now I would replace both starting Safeties if I could while I would really only replace one starting CB.
Yeah, I know Wilson hasn't been perfect but then neither was Darrell Green (not that I am comparing Wilson to Green). I just think that if we had a stud CB opposite Wilson he would suddenly look a lot better while I don't think replacing one Safety would make that second Safety look much better at all.
i dont know... our secondary looked pretty good when Meriweather was in the game... and he's (HOPEFULLY) coming back healthy next year.... where next year... D. Hall is year older.. and getting $4mil MORE then he's getting this year
