Carriker could miss rest of season - torn quad

It won't let me change the title; he's not actually on IR yet, but he's expected to miss the rest of the season. Won't be long before he is IR'd.

The swap of #5 picks that landed us a starting DE in Carriker is often overlooked when fans pile on Bruce or Mike for the McNabb deal or the signing of Tanard Jackson.

Well hell. That completely sucks.

That, and $1.25 will buy a coffee at 7-11.

Anywho, this is a big loss. Need all the rest of the D-linemen to stay healthy for the rest of the year. a tall order, for that position.

I was wondering if that was a turf injury since it looked like he wasn't hit on the play where he was injured.

Losing starters to injury early in the season is becoming a Skins tradition.

Yeah, I thought it was Carriker's knee the way he hit the turf.

Any word on Rak? We cannot afford to have him missing games again this season with the same lingering injury. I hope this wasn't his shoulder/pec...

The only relevant tweets I've seen were that Rob Jackson is preparing like he will start Sunday (what every backup usually says), and that when Orakpo came into the locker room and saw the media, he turned around and went right back out. Not sure what that means...

chris russle said carriker is definitely out for the season. no source he could list, but he said 'trust me' whatever that is worth.

Shanahan just said Orakpo is out for the season as well.

No Carriker or Orakpo for the entire year? Wow.

Orakpo was playing out of his mind. He knew it too, as soon as he got injured. That's what he got so mad about. Damn.

Eh, I feel like orakpo is super overrated by our fan base...

T, I'm not really sure if you're trolling here or not, but Orakpo is the 2nd best player on our defense, and its not that close.

I agree with you to an extent, but he still commanded a great deal of gameplanning attention, which now means that Kerrigan gets a lot more attention. That sucks.

Mike Shanahan: Hi Andre. I'd like you to stop by tomorrow.
Andre Carter: Sorry Coach, I have no time to socialize. I'm looking for a job.
MS: That is what I want to talk about - if you're interested.
AC: I'll be there tonight!

Wonder if Markus White will get a call; he's still on the Bucs practice squad.

really?

because first I'd put fletcher, then i'd put kerrigan. then i'd put josh wilson.

after that it's a toss up between cofield/bowen/carriker. one or two ofthem could be next on the list, i haven't really decided.

then it'd be a toss up between riley and orakpo for me.

the way gomes and williams have been playing, as 3rd and 4th string guys, they deserve some consideration as well.

So i have him competing for the 4th/5th spot against Riley. I'm not even convinced Williams and Gomes don't belong in the same conversation.
Thats far away from 2nd best, and really far away from 'not even that close'.

Obviously it's subjective. But you and I clearly have two different views on who is doing what for our defense.

orakpo has had one move in 3 years, and thats yelling about holding every ****ing play. he hasn't played as well as majority of the redskins fans act like he has. he may be good, just hasn't figured it all out yet and shown it on the field.

teams run right at orakpo because they know they can. they don't run at kerrigan or fletcher... you ever realize that?
