Rounds 4-7

6-4, 290 - a bit more muscle and pounds, then he will be good to go. Good pick here.

Two more picks in the 6th and two in the 7th.

Good post Destino, and great to see you. You should come around here more often. You are one of the better posters at that other site not to be named.

Cousins is an F and frankly only that because there isn't anything lower. It's a pick that at best hedges our bet on RG3 and provides insurance. That upside isn't something worthy of a high grade. The downside however is that it can stir up controversy in a town that loves back up QBs.

What if RG3 is slower that Cousins to get the playbook and looks a little worse in preseason? RG3 still has the higher upside but does the team go meritocracy and hand the reign (and snaps) to cousins or do they keep the guy they invested the most in on the field?

Why risk adding that element to the locker room at all? Terrible pick entirely because it brings more downside than otherwise. The risk outweighs the reward here and this team could really use depth and help in a lot of areas making the decisions to take such a risk all the more difficult to defend.

Jaworski was all over this theme as well, but honestly - I can't see Cousins as a risk to undermine a guy like RG3. There's no question, RG3 will be the starter - and I don't think it matters much who looks better for the first year or two.

The only legitimate criticism on this one in my humble opinion is whether we could afford to go QB there with so many other needs.

I think the other seeming criticism would be that we're all over the map on this draft. We seem to draft in the 3rd round for need (clearly didn't go BPA there), and then turn around in the 4th round and appear to go BPA... a little odd...

Oh - and Destino - what MCD5 said

I'm also thinking the nickname 'McRibeus' could be in his future.

McRibeus is awesome too.

May I also offer a few others for consideration:

I bet Little Chocolate Donuts are on LeRibeus' table every morning.

The true breakfast of champions you know............

ESPN and Jaws just going off on the Cousins pick right now. It's rare to see Jaws go that wild.

Did Shanny forget that we already have another young QB on the practice squad?

Granted we will be cutting a couple, but as of right now, we have 5 QBs.

Really tired from the rehab stuff this morning. Be back later after some rest. Looking forward to see who we picked and all the comments. Until then.

BSPN is acting like beck and gross-man will even be on the squad. Beck is a goner for sure and gross-man is barely a clipboard holder.

Yeah. Beck is gone. I think that's obvious.

And Grossman will probably move down the depth chart some time this year and will be gone by next year.

I have to admit the Cousins pick doesn't thrill me (like we need another round of Gus/Heath drama) but for those of you who want Beck and Grossman gone, getting a guy who can grow with the team, learn our system from Day One and stick around for a few years is a good way to make that happen.

By drafting Cousins, you're forcing yourself to keep 3 QB's on the active roster when you normally only keep two. That's losing a spot somewhere else because there's just no way we'll be able to stash Cousins on the Practice Squad. Just another reason I hate the move.

We filled some needs but with everyone else having those guys rated lower that where we got them, I'm a little underwhelmed but I'll reserve judgement until we see if they make the team or not.

It is interesting to me that Shanny just took some time to cut Beck right now, instead of five hours from now, or sometime tomorrow. He must have heard everyone bashing him on tv.

I'd prefer that he concentrates on our upcoming picks. The draft is still going on.

What's the sense in wasting time in cutting him this second? All it does is possibly help another opponent who may not now select a late round QB in favor of signing Beck as a backup.

And instead of wasting a pick, that other team may now take a player we want.

These kind of moves really make me wonder how sharp he really still is.

I doubt it was very time consuming. 'Cut him' :)

Dumbasses on Fox Sports Radio must've heard the ESPN draft comment 'they turned in the wrong card' and took it literally. They just spent 5 minutes berating the Redskins for literally 'turning in the wrong card'. 'Why did they even have Cousins name on a card if they didn't mean to use it?"

I mean, seriously?

But why not five hours from now? It sounds reactionary.

Why potentially help an opponent, and hurt your own team?

Not that people will beat down Beck's door, but it's just not smart timing.

Focus on the draft Mike. Not on cutting people or listening to ESPN.

I wonder if we'll finally go OT or CB here in the 6th. Compton, Reynolds, Potter and Datko are still available. At CB, Dennard , Minniefield, Tandy and Judie, Judie, Judie are still available.

With Ballard now off the board, Ganaway is the only big back left. Will we even go RB?

I guess. Sounds like they released him first thing this morning. Maybe they just figured if Beck were available, some team might decide to bring him in as a #2 or #3 vs. drafting a guy late. Don't know, but yeah, I get your point about timing.
