Neither of those teams needs another RB so it doesn't make any sense, other than the home state bias. He might have a shot at 2nd string in Cleveland or Arizona.

Well that's the key in Jax. New owner. He's already insulted his own fans. People hate him. Empty seats. TV blackouts. Possible move to Los Angeles.

Jax is exactly 1 hr and 27 minutes away from Gainesville. Tebow realistically equals an immediate 15-20k season tickets. Those Gator fans tailgate, and they are crazy for Tebow.

If the owner wants to at least temporarily solve all of those problems, he would be wise to go after Tebow aggressively.

He'd go from a zero to a hero overnight.

LOL. There would be plenty of boiled peanuts, Hank Williams Jr. and barbecue all over that tailgate. It would be a mass of people.

Plus, he'd be the only show in town. No NBA team, no baseball, hockey...anything really. He would own that place.

Just 100k people fighting for tickets every home game.

Schefter reporting it - he usually doesn't report it without it being verified. Ross must have been butt hurt about getting thrashed twice this year by the Redskins.
 
Aaron Ross to the Jags is not good news for the Redskins.

Now, it appears the Redskins are going to have to keep Hall and his salary cap number for the 2012 season.

What I don't get is that the Redskins backup corners have not shown the ability to step up and take on a heavier load and yet the team backs away from paying any free agents a decent salary for solid if unspectacular production.

Ross was not going to be that expensive but had NFCE and post-season experience with the Giants that this team could have found valuable.

After the Garcon and Morgan signings it appears the Redskins are again rummaging through the bargain bin for stop-gaps.

I think given that RGIII is on the way we need to ACCELERATE filling some of these other nagging holes that have been there for the past few seasons.

OL and CB have been weak points on this team for long time.
 
You think Garçon was a bargain-bin Free Agent signing? He was one of the top WR names out there.

In other words, those two signings were competitive ones based on the fact both players were going to draw interest and both were free of issues.

AFTER that, however, the moves for Meriweather and Griffin seem to indicate the Redskins are done shopping at the high end stores and are now walking down the aisle at Target.

Source says Garrard will get chance to compete for job "if he's healthy and gets full offseason program under his belt." So depth...for now.
 
For those who want us to sign more players...

We now have about $4 mil to $5 mil in cap room. In the Vinnius Cerratus days, that was enough to sign nine players and six cheerleaders. Today, that is considered to be enough room to re-sign Fletch and in a holding pattern until June.

DHall could bring 6$ mil in savings with almost no cap hit and Moss could bring $3 mil in savings with $1 mil cap hit - both after June 1.
 
I thought the Skins could also release Beck and free up $1M as well as restructure Cooley's deal which could net an additional $2M.

With Grossman now resigned and a draft pick of Griffin or Luck in the offing, what is the rationale to holding onto a 31 year old third string qb?

Ideally, your #3 qb is a developmental player whom the team can draft late in April or sign as UDFA.

I don't suspect Senor Beck will be a Redskins this year, BD.

My sense is the team is working through the salary cap issue before making the next wave of attempted signings. My gut is we'll be looking at adding some "grocery aisle" ( :) ) signings to fill in holes well into camp.

And for the record, I have no problem with that now that we've commiting to finally pulling the trigger on a QB. Time to get a real assessment of what we have.
