Somewhere between Gibbs I and now, I converted from a "run the ball, stop the run, win championships" to loving Andy Reid's style of offense, where he basically treats the running game as yesterday's leftover chili. I mean, he'll eat it (because he'll eat anything, let's be honest), but he'll eat it after a nice steak dinner.Running too much. That's a problem that I honestly wouldn't mind having
On a side note, glad you are posting more Voice_of_Reason - you're pretty great at it!
Analytics show 2 things:
1. Throwing on first down leads to more first downs
2. Running on second and long is stupid.
So, I'm a convert. I like the running game as a complement to the pass game. But not the other way around. I'm fully a pass-first kinda guy now. That's not everybody's cup of tea, and I get that some of the best offenses in the NFL right now are more balanced or run heavy.
I was excited to get EB in here because I thought he would be able to get us out of the Scott Turner Run Run Pray offense. Sadly, he seemed to be in over his head and that was a pretty spectacular failure.
So, shrug.
PS: I enjoy posting here. It's fun. I'm going to keep at it.
