In Adam Peters introductory press conference he stated “I believe that there’s a few cornerstone pieces on this roster…”.

Which players are your cornerstone pieces?

Cornerstones:
McLaurin
Allen
Kurl
Way

Supporting stones: (I don’t know what the right term is, but not quite cornerstones but important).
Robinson
Dotson
Cosmi
Payne
St Juste

I would be upset if any of the top guys left. I would wonder who would replace any of the guys in list 2 and really wonder if they are getting better by letting them go and keeping lesser talent.

Everyone else on the roster can be easily replaced with better talent. I won’t shed any tears over anyone else being let go.

Cornerstones: None - everyone should be available for the right price, we're not a few players away from serious contention imo, we're a few players away from mediocrity and I'm tired of it.

Cornerstones (for at least 2024):
McLaurin
Dotson
Cosmi
Robinson
Howell*
Allen
Payne
St Juste
Kurl
Way

*Howell is included here because he will either be "the man" or he will be the backup to "the man", and I believe Gibbs was right when he said the second most important guy on the team is the backup QB.

My cornerstones based on the ‘foundational’ definition (in order)-

McClaurin
Payne
Cosmi
Allen (depending on his mindset and the team’s timetable)
Robinson Jr.
Way

Other important pieces for either potential, contractual situation or simple need (can’t get rid of everyone)-

Dotson
Forrest
Martin
Rodriguez
Howell

1 FA i’d like to keep-

Samuels

Gibson and Samuel are two of the most talented guys on the roster and, while entering the back half of their careers, should be considered as valuable bets who we may want to re-sign.

My cornerstone pieces

Defense :
Payne
Curl
Martin
I have to leave Allen out because I think he’d rather play elsewhere

Offense:
Terry
Cosmi
Dotson

Special Teams
Way
Reaves

Bubble players
Def Samuel ( really liked the season he had )
Howell
Forbes ( willing to give him another year to figure out the NFL)

To me Kwon Martin and Forbes are guys Peters and the new Head Coach are going to bring in to compete in 2024, but their draft status from the Rivera regime doesn't put them in my mind in the cornerstone category.

To be cornerstones you need to be proven.

So, resigning Kam Curl is a priority.

Talking to Jonathan Allen and ensuring he wants to stay is a priority.

Discussions to extend Cosmi could be started.

As with Allen, the team needs to talk to McLaurin and Payne to see where they are at.

The rest of the players to me are either still playing on cheap rookie deals and still in the 'show me you have the goods' stage or mid-career players that IMO are either depth players or replacement level performers that Ron either liked or drafted and kept around for appearances sake.

Replacement level players I would show the door:

Nick Gates
Dyami Brown
Dax Milne
Saahdiq Charles
Logan Thomas
John Bates
Cole Turner
Cody Barton
Cornelius Lucas
David Mayo
Byron Pringle
Andrew Wylie (perhaps Wylie can move inside to compete at left guard) - he finished the year rating poorly among RTs in the NFC

I didn't put any secondary players on the 'show the door' list because the coaching at DBs seemed almost absent in terms of guys not knowing their assignments and schemes not fitting players abilities.

These guys need to be evaluated by a REAL defensive coordinator and DB coach.
