WT: Morgan Fined

Finnegan was twisting legs/feet after he stood up after a tackle throughout the game. It wasn't just a slight twitch either, he was going full on twist with his whole torso trying to injure. A couple WR's got up fired up because of it. I EXPECT to get f&^%$ed by the NFL, it's when we don't that I'm surprised now. THE biggest reason Snyder should have sued their asses instead of pussing out.

Granted, this is more about the situation with the refs but it is directly relevant to the discussion about Morgan's penalty/fine and the lack thereof for many Rams.

I am less concerned about the fine or indeed Morgan's rash act to throw the ball.

What I am more concerned about is the sneaking feeling that Morgan like Josh LeRibeus is bringing less to the table week to week than was expected by the coaching staff.

You see Hankerson and Robinson before you see Morgan on the field. In fact it took Garcon's injury I think for him to get out there at all.

Similarly, you have a Kory Lichtensteiger that has been flagged several times the first 2 games and who is playing at less than 100% and yet LeRibeus remains firmly seated on the bench.

One could hope that a #3 pick could come in and start the first game or two at an inside OL position and let KL get back to 100% where he didn't need to pull guys down to compete.
 
Morgan has been the starter for both games so far, BD, and gotten more looks than Hankerson by far. I am not saying he isn't under performing but he is getting playing time that Hankerson isn't and Robinson wouldn't be if Garçon were healthy.

I also read somewhere that he is our most productive receiver in terms of catches per targets. He has caught 85% of the balls thrown to him or some such.
 
We don't know what the amount of Morgan's fine was yet do we?

Rams G Quinn Ojinaka was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness; he struck an opponent (LB London Fletcher) late. This play was not penalized during the game.

...and these are the fines the league publicized. It's possible there were others. The league confirms fines involving only plays about which reporters specifically ask.

It was $7875, half of what Jenkins' fine was. I guess throwing a football at someone is only 50% as dangerous as a head shot on a defenseless receiver. :rolleyes:

Who is the brain trust that comes up with the fine amounts? Ojinaka gets the same amount for nearly paralyzing Fletcher as Morgan gets for throwing a football?

I still think Boone is right - this is the first time I personally can remember seeing a fine for unsportsmanlike conduct...WTF?
 
I sure hope some fans find creative ways to get caught on camera, during the game Sunday, expressing our disdain for Heir Roger Le'Douche.

If I didn't know better, I'd say it was a non partisan unanimous vote from our very own US Congress. Only institution I can think of that lives on one planet, and passes rules for another.

notice how all the fines against the rams say "This play was not penalized during the game"... really
 
replacement officials are intimidated about making calls against the home team.

that's what I have seen the first couple of weeks.

and of course every second or third call requires a zebra conference or conversation with one or both head coaches because of questions about their validity.

and now that this has been widely reported (including, but not limited to: around the horn, PTI, mike and mike in the morning, and DC area sports talk radio) the NFL has undoubtably sent a memo to the replacement refs that they need to be conscious of favoring the home team and being influenced by the home crowd.

so, now they'll over react and go the other way. just in time for our home opener. 14/16 home teams won last week. i bet 10+/16 away teams win this week (even if i'm right that means nothing :) )

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Finnegan involved in an on-field fight when he was with the Titans? It was widely publicised, even down here, so he has form and a track record to show he is not so innocent.

With any form of contact sport, the player who retaliates is more likely to be the one who gets penalised. What I learnt to do is to remember it, and get pay-back at a later date.
 
I am calling it...Morgan goes out and has a stellar day today! 7 rec for 108 yards and 1 td.
