WP - Robert Griffin III’s suffers no setbacks after first week of cutting drills

Early on when he was operated on the doctors said normal recoup time put him back in the saddle in August. That means he starts to work out in a football setting on the field. Not start a game. Going into training camp full speed next week is too soon in my opinion based on that time schedule that's always been out there.
That was the original general time schedule. It also had/has specific phases and check points. We've already heard ad nauseum that he is way ahead of that original schedule, hitting the check points earlier than that schedule, and moving to each next phase earlier than that schedule without issues or setbacks. That's the point of the original article. He's reached the final phase ahead of schedule without a setback and that puts him on the field earlier than August.

Somebody very involved on the medical side, said the exact time/location to clear/not clear RG3 hasn't been planned yet.

Same person did allow that every test they give him, every path they set - he completely smashes it. They are astonished so far. #Redskins

I'm Ok with Griffin playing to start the season. If he is ready the coach will make the call. What I find to be a significant difference this year over last year is that last year, we built the offense around Griffin, but what we found out was we have a bonified star running back and running game. That to me means the game plan does not have to place Griffin in the center and focus on him. If I'm right about that, then he won't be put at risk nor asked to do things he isn't comfortable with, like scaling back the effort. I'm thinking Shanahan will focus the running game while easing Griffin into it. The way I see it, Shanahan will be more gunshy than Griffin. Shanahan made some bad decisions on Griffin last year and he won't let it happen again.
