Will we sign Josh Norman?

The #Redskins signing @J_No24 Josh Norman is like having a second 1st Rd draft choice this year. Look for a DL in the 1st Rd.

@CharleyCasserly

Redskins schedule:

W1: A Brown
W2: Dez
W3: OBJ
W4: RG3
W5: Smitty
W8: AJ Green
W11: Jordy
W12: Dez
W13: Fitz
W15: CAR
W16: Alshon
W17: OBJ

@WillBrinson

Seems the answer to the thread question is yes, yes he will.

Idk about a big contract like this since its bitten our ass in the past. Mcluvin has earned the benefit of the doubt tho imo.

A) McCloughan knows players, this pursuit is a ringing endorsement of Norman; B) Let's wait for the real numbers.

--@AlbertBreer

Mcloughin knows Breer's mom!

Signing Percy Harvin to a 6 year, $67 million contract immediately comes to mind ...

That season I believe he had one catch for, uh, seventeen yards? Pretty sure it was seventeen.

how much influence did he have at Seattle? He was assistant GM but total player control belong to Carroll. So three way blame?

My bet is over $15 mil of Norman deal guaranteed for injury only. True guarantee is $35 mil ballpark.

@NFLBridge

He's a former NFL agent.

I'm proud of the smart moves the @Redskins front office making! Feels good to see your team w a plan finally! Congrats @J_No24 HTTR!!

How much do I believe in Scot McCloughan? I'd view Norman signing as cliche Snyder if McCloughan wasn't GM. Now, I'm questioning Carolina.

@JeffDarlington

YEEEEHAAWWWW!

Way to go. And no I don't believe it was orders from Snyder.

Wow, that is a game changer. removes the need for cb at 21 and lessens the need for DT at 21 and now even we can defer DT until later cause draft is deep in DT. wow. Watch McClou go, would love to be a fly on the wall in the war room now!

Not only will this help our defense, but it's going to help our offense too in practices.

This should help Cousins tremendously. Desean, Garcon and Crowder especially. Ross too. This is big.

I hope we have several days of practice where Norman just covers Crowder the entire day. Then Ross.

He should really help the young guys develop rapidly.

Depending on the signing bonus they could have this year a little lower then go higher next year then level out in year 3

@JeffDarlington

yesterday in random thread I wrote something similar or it could have been this morning or afternoon
too many posts since then

Now the real details of the contract are starting to emerge:

Per source, Josh Norman's five-year, $75 million deal has $36.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. Not far off from Darrelle Revis.

If the salary cap continues to rise it will look like a bargain in next year and beyond. Plus I have to think if he got released at the beginning of free agency he probably would have gotten more

I'm told @Saints QB @drewbrees personally wanted @J_No24 on team and was willing to modify contract to make it happen. Effort failed.

Just seen a similar tweet that said pay cut
was Brees willing to play for pennies on the dollar?
