I mean, if he lasts long and enough and plays at the high level he's at or better, do you think the jersey will be "retired" unofficially or officially?

Simple answer - yes.

Terry McLaurin was my favourite player in his draft class. You can go back and read some of my comments regarding him in the pre-draft process. I just loved the kid's leadership and competitiveness, and thought that he could add value to any team. I literally jumped off my couch when Darrell Green announced that we selected him.

McLaurin always finds a way to stand out, even when he has a relatively quiet day. He will usually make a play or two that makes you say wow. The fact that he has been able to do this without much help at various times thus far in his career is all the more impressive.

Lifetime contract for me.

It's funny, my initial driveby thought would be 'It's crazy early to be talking in those terms about McLaurin'. But what's even crazier is that it's NOT too early - he's the real deal. On top of being just a crazy good WR, and a 'gamer' in the same sense that Heinicke is, he's probably the smartest player on this team. He understands not just what has to happen on Sundays, but he gets what Rivera and company are trying to accomplish long-term. He always says the right thing, and he's always part of creating that right environment the coaching staff is trying to build. An example came just yesterday. When Rivera gave him one of the game balls, you know what McLaurin's first response was? He thanked his teammates for lifting him up after that bad drop he made. He's the most accountable guy on this roster. That is just awesome.

So to answer your question, do I think McLaurin is going to be an all-time great who ends up beloved by fans and having his number retired?

It's certainly possible.

I was much too young to watch rookie Darrell Green's entire body of work but I've caught a couple games in the playoffs(like the NFL championship game against San Francisco) and he was all over the field.

Mclaurin gives me the same vibe as a WR. He never quits on plays, his hands are vice grips, and the natural blessings is also all there, and of course he manages to get open somehow.

It's rare to see someone this refined, polished, and dedicated to the game right from the outset.

I wasn't paying attention to the team when Terry was drafted, but it's almost poetic Darrell Green announces his draft selection.

Do you guys think he'll be here that long or will he want to go somewhere where he could win at?

Hate to be "that" guy but after the last 30 years, it's a serious question.

No idea. He says all the right things but we’ve heard that before. Maybe we’re going to be a team that can win it all before long :). Finding a long-term productive QB star would help.
