I just thought of three more movies to add to the list....
1. Shutter Island
2. American Psycho (Christian Bale version)
3. Jonah Hex
I hate everything about Christian Bale, and had no desire to see this movie whatsoever. A female friend of mine suggested it, but she also has a thing for Bale, so I assumed her love of the movie was based entirely on this fact. She made me watch it, and I wasn't disappointed. Oddly, it is now one of my all time favorites, and I don't think anyone could have played the part better than Christian Bale.
Shutter Island appealed to me because of who made it, but Leonardo DiCaprio is my all time least favorite actor. I put off watching it for the longest time, because he's one of those actors I just can't tolerate looking at, because he is god awful at his job (other than his amazing performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape - also an unexpectedly awesome movie) But I said hell, it's a Scorsese movie, it has to be awesome. So I watched it and learned two things.....it's the craziest movie with the craziest twist I have ever seen, and Leo apparently has taken some acting classes lol.
Jonah Hex was a movie I never knew existed until it premiered on HBO last night. I only watched it, because there was absolutely nothing on last night. I found it odd that it was barely over an hour long, but I was way more pleased than I thought I would be, especially since I had never read the comic book, and the summary sounded lame ass all hell. Ended up being a pretty good flick. Not awesome, and I'd never watch it again most likely, but I was impressed.
