Time to put up or shut up. Try as I might, I can't come up with a logical reason why we shouldn't trounce the cheese heads. They can't run. They can't stop the run. They don't have a receiver that can break open a game. I know it's tempting to give into the Aaron Rodgers mystique, but he ain't getting it done this weekend. He doesn't have the weapons. Our offense is going to roll over them. End of the day I expect a plus thirty point game for our heros and a sub 20 point game for the goats. Look for 100 + on the ground, 3 tds. from Kirk and 350 yds passing. I expect Almo to punch in one or two, or maybe Kirk will get one on the ground as well. The only reason to think otherwise is if you let yourself give into the fears of past failures. The past doesn't equal the present. This is a new team with a new Captain, and I expect them to beat a team who at this point in time they are better than. There can be no other outcome!!!!

And edit my title Mod guys as I can't freaking spell Slaughter. :)

Oh hell yeah!!! That was awesome. YOU LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!

Was I supposed to have tears trickling down my face while watching that?

Man, I love this team.

Love seeing Brian Mitchell back in the fold. That's good karma.

Yeah, he's been in a much 'brighter' mood since things starting looking better.

Yeah....since his team Philly stinks and the Skins have improved, he hopped on the bandwagon.

That dude trashed the organization AND the fanbase when he left here and went to Philly and has basically trashed us ever since until the turnaround this year.

So forgive me if I still look at him with a jaundiced eye.

It's not just BMitch who's jumped on with the more positive stuff locally but I agree, he's hard to take when it goes negative.

A couple of screenshots from Week 17. Defense by Redskins/Cowboys & Vikes/Packers showing what works and one not so much.

Screen1_G.jpg

1. Redskins used variations of this throughout the 1st quarter. All DB's are tight to the line with both Safeties in the 10 to 12 yard range. 6 players are boxed up at the line.

2. Result of the play: All DBs are in tight coverage (white circles). Due to pressure Moore has to unload to McFadden (yellow arrow) to avoid the sack for a safety before he can step up. Hall starts just behind the line and winds up in coverage (red circle). The pass misses wide left.

3. The Vikes used this with variations throughout most of the night. The circle is how tight they played at the line. Both Safeties 8 yards back with three LBs 3 to 4 yards off the LOS. Set up for blitz or run. Note 3 RBs (one went out as a receiver) for protection. Limits the number of receivers that can line up.

4. Result from the play: Vikes blitz, Rodgers scrambles for about 5 seconds. A free play from defensive offsides but the pass (yellow arrow) falls incomplete and both DBs in man coverage (red circle) as was the one in the white circle. Nowhere to throw.

Skins3.jpg

5. Redskins went to this type of setup about 5 min's into the 2nd Qtr. Breeland well off the WR (bottom double arrow line) and everyone else is pretty wide, shows no pressure plus is vulnerable to the run. Blackmon starts close to the WR (top) but not for long. The LBs have Safety help behind them.
At least one of the LB's could be up a lot closer.

6. Result of the play: Breeland backpedals, Newman runs a button hook (red circle) for a 16 yard catch + a 1st down (yellow arrow). Receivers in the white circles are manned up but in the large oval (top) Blackmon is way off the WR (red double arrow line) who possibly gets more yardage if the pass is to him.
Rogers will hammer this formation.

Redskins will need to stay closer to the first two examples. Rogers mostly had success when the Vikings played off even if they only laid back 2 or 3 yards.

Skins should win going away.

only concern: if it rains heavily.....running game suddenly wickers into the equation.

vis passing...Barry has limited his use of blitzes. Rodgers is evasive.
