I don't think Sinnott is a 'good backup with a chance to be a starter', I think he is a starter here in 2024.

On the film as per our discussion in the chat, he looks a bit like a young Jason Witten. Not quite as much speed but definitely able to get open and the fact he can be an inline blocker really puts him in a good spot to be a three down player for us.

When was the last time Washington had a three down player at TE? Logan Thomas was a good receiver but he had no lead in his pants and had to exit the field on short yardage and run downs.

Third and one is going to be fun again because a guy like Sinnott can slip off the line and catch a defense napping with a soft toss over the middle for a big gainer. Just what Mahomes has done with Kelce 2,558 times the past 3-4 years.

I'm a sap for these feel good videos. The players who play it cool need to learn to let us all enjoy their moment. There won't be many days like this for any of us. I remember when my agent contacted me with my first book deal. Sometimes, you need to smile like a fool and dance like Snoopy.

Some guys are all business.

I remember Ronnie Lott after winning the Super Bowl as a rookie.

He said they worked their butts off and deserved the payoff, etc.

He barely smiled 🤣

Some of us are 'dancing on the inside' kind of people :)

So, the first thing I thought when I saw the video of Sinnott on the call is, "Somewhere, Rex Ryan is watching this video over and over and over again." :p

I think this is an awesome pickup. What you can see is the team is building a really strong group of threats for early downs:

Running with Robinson
Running with Daniels (occasionally)
Receivers who specialize in the middle of the field and quick game:
Zach Ertz
Sinnnott,
Ekeler
Luke McCaffery
Terry (who can do anything)
Dotson (who's really good in tight spaces)

They're going to feature a lot of quick stuff over the middle, and then the plan has got to be to work off of that to deep stuff.

I LOVE that you can see the plan coming together.

Whether it works or not, we'll see. But there is a plan. And that's good.

Ekeler in particular seems like a guy that fits into Kingsbury's offense and can act as a reliable safety valve for Daniels.

I ran across this video today. It gives some information on Sinnott's rise to being the 2nd TE taken in this years draft.

So, in essence two of Washington's high selections two years ago, Jayden Daniels and Ben Sinnott were looked upon as Day 3 selections? :rotflmao:

Things change fast. I remember at one point in time Spencer Rattler was going to be the next great quarterback in college.
