Oh I know brother, it's just amazing to me that with the stats we have he looks incredibly solid until you get to his capability of "romoing" when the going gets tough. I'm looking forward to when Robert gets back and hopefully Gruden starts pounding the bowling ball up the gut known as AMO. Of course, it also appears that AMO is dependent on a mobile QB to keep teams from stacking the box, of course our porous O line doesn't help on the right side. I don't care if we ever run right EVER. We should feed Polumbus nothing but spicy food saturday night and let his flatulence scare the opposition, not like he doesn't already stink like a bar bathroom at 1am on a Friday night.
LOL.... From what I understand, Polumbus actually does well in RUN blocking, he's just not worth a hill of beans in pass pro. Cooley does a radio show and every week he does a film breakdown. Said that a lot of the time that we've struggled in the run game, it's because just 1 guy misses an assignment and a chain reaction ensues. I don't really understand why teams stack our box considering how effective our passing game has been, but that's the chicken or the egg argument.

Here's the rub I have with your assessment relying on the stats to assess our offense. Do the stats show how many possessions opposing teams are getting because our offense cannot stay on the field long enough to chew up clock? Does it tell you how many times the defense stops the oppsoing team on the second half after making adjustments that give our offense the opportunity to take control of the game.
Sorry brother, I do not agree with your assessment that our offense is in good shape. We have a lot of work to do. Are there pieces of the puzzle in place? Absolutely. A trade for DeSean is not an option in my mind...it shows impatience. A trade for anyone at this point (unless we get true value) is a non-issue.
We simply need to give it 3 years to turn things around on a team so talent deficient...offense and defense. Sure, we have some skills players, but we do not have the core on offense or defense...the lines...to be a dominant team. That takes a couple years to build...the correct way, through draft using free agency to compliment those young players.
I like the Jackson signing, glad we got him. I would rather have had the top rated RT in Free Agency...much rather!
I never said our offense was in good shape.. I'm just not supporting the notion that we need to sell the farm. offensively we have some things to hang out hats on.... things that prove we have key talent key places. We desperately need to address the right side of the line... but if you think about it... what else is a glaring hole on that side of the ball?

Licht has filled in adequately, but there still is not enough push coming from him. Lavauo is serviceable, but he is not the answer at LG. The only player on our OL is TW who could start for another team. We need to spend at least 2 of our 4 1st and 2nd round picks over the next 2 years on OL help. I say 2 of 4, but I wish it would be all 4. I know we can't though, if we do draft in the top 10...we need a top rated CB to compliment Amerson. I think he is getting it done, but he is not a shut down corner...yeah, I used that term.

I don't think shipping anyone is the answer, nor do I think this team is smart enough to NOT get taken to the cleaners in any trade. New regime or not, I haven't seen this FO(whoever is responsible for whatever) do anything really different than years past and years past before that.
I think we need to think about what identity as a whole we'd like to have. Find the right people to be in charge of finding the right people to fit that identity, and NEVER stray from that path.
When I think of the steelers, I think of dick lebeau and the 3/4, linebackers, big d linemen, brut style running backs, quarterbacks with beards, and always competitive even when they are in a funk.
When I think of the packers, I think of a never ending surplus of productive non diva skill position players, linemen on both sides of the ball, stingy secondary, homegrown players, an offensive system designed to get down the field in chunks.
For whatever reason I also think of tough when I think of those two teams(guys who don't where sleeves when the cold winds are rising).
There are other thoughts that come up when I think of other teams as well, but when I try to figure out the redskins' identity, I get a visual of multi colored scribbles in permanent marker that my son would draw on a quasi important wall in my house, and as he awaits my approval upon showing me his masterpiece, I get bug-eyed and say, "uh, I love it buddy!"
So I think it's starts with the identity. Once that choice has been made it's a matter of playing chess, to get relevant and stay relevant for the long haul, when you have the pieces in certain positions and they we're put there with careful planning and research, you will always be a threat. The redskins haven't been playing chess, they're playing the 1 billion dollar scratch off ticket version of hungry hungry hippos.
I say we draft, draft, and draft. Find and let the RIGHT people do the scouting, drafting, and FA acquiring. Free agency IMO has to be something we use at a minimum and to simply add depth and keep the guys we have here hungry enough to earn their roster spot yearly in camps and preseason.
I wonder if the people out there that are good at finding and evaluating people to fit such system have been offered a job here before but turned it down by running and screaming away from the interview like a kid running from the boogie man in his nightmares, in fear that if they took the job here, it would mean the end of their career in the NFL.
With all that being said I think the silverback is the only guy who could get us some things like player/players/picks, but that would be cutting off our nose to spite our face right. Guys like Kerrigan, Rak, RGIII...are only good to us locals because everyone else around them is terrible.

Yeah I'm not saying either lavauo or Licht are pro bowlers but they aren't liabilities either... at this point.
I'd almost look FS before CB. If we can get a playmaker FS it can help the CBs... Breeland has filled in but shouldnt be covering, nor should he be expected to, number 1 receivers

How am i cherry picking stats. fansince said that there is no evidence that we are closer then what people are saying we are. Having a qb who is our backup be ranked number 10 in the league while playing 1 less game proves that offensively we have talent. The point is that the offense as a whole is not inept. If youre going to single out a post... Read the thread before attacking with constant negativity.
You do get the point is that even with Cousins, who he is brazenly stating is not a good QB by his standard, our O is still putting up top 10 stats. He's saying our team must have talent, because even with a substandard QB, they can still produce.
That isn't cherry picking stats, or saying anything good about Cousins. If anything, it's throwing Cousins under the bus. Your responses are not in line with what he is saying at all.

got it. not sure how one stat correlates to an argument. my suspicion is that had you found any stat in the top 10 you would have presented that as "proof". the hypothesis seems to be: if you are "far away", then you cannot have a QB who registers top 10 in any statistical category. the contraposiitve being: if you have a QB who registers in the top 10 in any statistical category, then you are not "far away." I understand you aren't advocating for Cousins. I just don't buy into the logic!
you need to define "not far away." then find stats that correlate to the definition.

How am i being naive? What have i said that is innacurate. Where have i refered to cousins as anything other then a backup? I havent. Ive only shared that i dont think selling the farm is a good idea and that we may be 1-5 but its not time to start dumping everything. Statistically this far our offense has been able execute a gameplan... Until cousins decides to panic and start playong 500
Closer to being better then 1 and 5, then we are a defunkt team that needs to start a firesale
