I think we forget about the Giants because they had such a terrible season, but I want to return to those two games for a moment. In the first game, Daniels and the offense moved at will, they scored seven times, but the second time the Giants faced us we notched three touchdowns with two extra scores and frankly we coasted in the second half of the game. Now, I know what you're thinking. It was the Giants. Who cares?
I care and I'll tell you why. The second time a team goes up against an offense they are more prepared and less likely to be surprised. The Giants knew about Daniels legs and his speed. Likewise, the first time we played the Eagles we struggled to score, but the second time, it was Daniels who mastered what the Eagles and Fangio were trying to do to him and not the other way around. One of the big fears with a rookie phenom is that defenses get a book on them and figure them out. When they do it's up to the offense and the phenom to show they're not a one-trick pony. They have to prove they can do it again.
So if what we have seen against the Giants and now the Eagles means anything then it's one more piece of evidence that we have something special because what we've shown is that while our first shot may take the league by surprise and stun a team our second shot is even deadlier.
