LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. -- The Washington Football Team announced Wednesday that they have named guard Brandon Scherff the winner of the team's 2020 Ed Block Courage Award. The honor is given annually to a player from each National Football League team who displays extraordinary courage in the face of adversity. Quarterback Alex Smith was the 2019 Ed Block Courage Award winner.

Very happy to see Brandon get rewarded. He has had to fight through some injuries in his career and when he has been on, he has made a true difference along our offensive line and proven that he was worthy of being a top 5 pick.

All that being said, we can't have a repeat of his Week 17 performance at Philly on Saturday.

75 has a huge opportunity on Saturday to redeem himself and earn a big paycheque in the offseason, especially if we can upset the Buccaneers. He truly seems like the type of guy that Rivera wants to build his team around character-wise. The opportunity is there, he has to seize it.
