Whilst I'm hoping to get to the Madrid game, finances, work and logistics are probably going to derail that plan. Therefore I'm going to try and make on of the other UK games. What UK games are you guys looking most forward to this year? Broncos-Jets or the Rams game will be first choice for me. They always sell out so quickly I've only managed to secure tickets once before. The NFL does seem to be getting bigger every year over here.

Will be trying to get to the Madrid game but not holding my breath.

Me and my mate usually go to the Jags game as he’s a fan but he can’t make it this year. We’re going to try for Vikes-Browns I think but still waiting for him to make up his mind.

"The distance from London to Madrid is around 785 miles (1264 km). When you travel between them by train, the fastest journey time takes 14 hours and 18 minutes."

That's like DC to Atlanta. Make the journey to support your team!

Or roundtrip nonstop flights in 2.5 hours for $175 per. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Considering the Madrid game but haven't told the wife yet! My two boys have started to get into the NFL so may end up being an expensive trip (if we can get tickets).

So cool that we have such a large UK contigent
There's a huge fan base in the UK and a lot of Washington fans. The NFL hit the UK screens in the 80's (I think the Bears Pats Superbowl was the first one shown), so naturally you had an initial surge of fans for the teams that made it to the big game - the above two plus the 49ers, Dolphins, Broncos, Bills and ourselves amongst others.

I've been to a few of the Wembley games and it's always a sea of colour with all teams represented , always a great atmosphere regardless of who is playing, very knowledgeable fans, and the games sell out ridiculously quick. There's a lot of UK Universities that have teams - I played LB for 3 years in the 90's and it was big then, and has grown even more since.

For me, it’s not a matter of the distance but rather I think tickets will be super hard to get.

Aiming to get tickets for myself and a friend. If I can't get the pair, suspect my budget and willingness will outstretch his.

When I last tried to get tickets for a London game a couple of years ago, there were only single tickets left by the time I got through the virtual queue. If I end up in the same position again, it won't be a deal breaker this time.

I would love to see an organized, concerted effort to get more UK Commanders fans here on BGO. I don't know how one would go about that - but are there any UK NFL websites you all frequent? Would love to hear some ideas. We know that a lot of US Washington fans claimed not to know we have been out here since 2009 (despite advertising on social media and on the Galdi podcast) and being a top 3 Washington Football fan site, so I suspect only a small portion of UK fans have any idea we are here.

There used to be a formal NFL UK website, with a forum and all. Like many forums it had a hey day, then died a death.

I'd guess social media. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a Facebook group, but I don't venture on there anymore.

I'm an Extremeskins defector, discovered this site when that went down although wasn't much of a poster, more of a lurker tbh. It's great to see many familiar names on here now, hence why I decided to stay. I've got to say, the site feature that I absolutely love is the Jump to New, or the fact it does that automatically, absolutely brilliant time saver, and I wish more sites did that.

I can't really add to the comments above on how to find more UK Washington fans, as there isn't really anywhere I'm aware of, but rest assured there are plenty of fans over here. NFL is massive across Europe especially Germany, UK and Spain, which is why the NFL is doing the overseas games. We Europeans appreciate it, although I can see why season ticket holders in the US don't. I think it's going to happen in reverse with the Premier League in the UK at some point, so the US can probably expect some of our soccer league games over there in the future.

Well now that there are 17 games it shouldn't be a huge problem having 1 overseas game a year. Nobody should lose home games, right?
